They've got some mouthwatering dishes on the menu. The Duck in red curry sauce is a big winner as was a slow cooked beef dish in a beautifully flavoured clear broth (can't remember the name). Soft shell crab is fantastic, too.
Price is probably a little more than you'd pay for another suburban Thai but you really notice the difference in quality. Great low-lit ambience which gives an intimate 'restauranty' feel - not the harsh, brightly lit and noisy atmosphere of some other places. Definitely recommended.
We've tried out many Thai restaurants, both dining in and at home. Thai Nine is the only one thus far that delivers to the home, the same standard of food as you'd get when dining in. Great flavour, great quality as well as quantity. The only shame is that I can't eat from there every day!
Delicious food, great service, nicely decorated and dimly lit seating area.
Loved every dish we ate, so will need to go back again to try more. Definitely recommend Crystal Prawns, Red Duck curry with Roti, Banana flower prawns (can't remember the Thai name for this dish). Apparently the scallops are amazing too.
Stumbled across this little gem on Valentine's Day because everywhere else was booked. So glad we found it! Beautiful decor, romantic ambience, great service, and unique food at reasonable prices. Crystal prawns entree was delish!
The previous reviewer is on the nail, if maybe a bit over the top with all those 10s! The food is excellent - definitely more interesting than the usual suburban Thai fare, but with plenty of old favourites to choose from too. The specials are usually interesting. Considering the area and the quality of food, I think the value is good too. The stand-out for us however is the friendly service from every single staff member, not to mention the promptness - a real winner!
The food is great and the portions are large. But what makes this restaurant special is the staff. Every single one of them makes you feel welcome, from the waitress to the owner, and nothing is problem.
Our favourite Thai restaurant. Consistently good after many visits. The coco prawn dish is the kids’ favourite, and the scallop and betel leaf entrée is the parents’ favourite. Outside can be cold even with the heaters. The service is very friendly and the specials always worth a try.
