Nice, clean and spacious inside, decor is quite modern. More than enough wait staff and located opposite the train station. From outside, the well lit restaurant stands out amongst the dark surroundings, making it hard to miss. For that reason, we decided to give it a try.
We ordered over the phone for pick up. We arrived, paid and were told to wait. We waited for about 10 minutes, wondering what was taking so long. Eventually another person came over and asked us if we needed anything. We told her we were still waiting for our order, considering we had already ordered at home, waited a good 10 to 15 minutes before leaving and having to wait again once we arrived at the restaurant (mind you, it was not busy). She looked through the orders and picked up our food, apparently it had been sitting there the whole time. So does that mean I could have potentially waited for longer if no one had asked me? Their lack of communication and service skills made me wait for no apparent reason. Not happy.
So anyway we got home, hoping the food would rescue them from the bad, first impression. Unfortunately the food was not great. The noodles were bland and consisted of only noodles and beansprouts and not much else. If i knew it was going to be like that, I would not have ordered it. We also got something off the chefs recommendations section, assuming it would be good but again, we were left disappointed. Food seemed somewhat lazy and lacked any depth in flavour.
Such a shame, as it looked promising from the outside. Maybe it was an off day for them or maybe it was just the particular dishes that we ordered, but I don't think I'll be back any time soon.
Booked a table for 2 and was warmly greeted when we arrived. The restaurant was fresh and bright, with lovely fresh flowers on each table. Tables spaced with adequate room between. The dishes we ordered were very generous in serving size and very tasty. All the wait staff we met were very friendly and attentive, without being annoying! The owner has an obvious passion for great food and using local produce, her home baked biscotti was an absolute treat to end a delightful meal. We had a 3 course meal for 2 of us for under $60 with adequate free parking very close by. Would be fantastic for a group function, as well as a cosy meal for 2.
The best Chinese food in the south west, on par with the best that Chinatown has to offer! A beautiful new restaurant with food, ambience and service to match at very reasonable prices. The dishes are huge, byo welcome.
Best Asian food in the area, would totally recommend it. Couple of teething problems with order but food is delicious, nice touch at the end of meal is complimentary fruit & fortune cookies. Staff always happy to help & Jenny's lovely. We will definitely be regulars.
