Went on a Monday night and were the only diners in the whole restaurant. Indeed there would have only been about a dozen patrons in the whole club. My wife had the chicken Parma which was rather good I tried the butter chicken but it was so bad could only eat half of it. So I would say the meals are hit and miss.
Not happy at all. We were with Auburn club, but because of closure now have to come to Granville. We came to get our free birthday lunch, only to be told the machines aren't working and we can't swipe cards. So no birthday special. All the staff is confused and have no idea what is going on. We decided to have a meal and the waitress ignored us. Very are very unhappy with whole experience and will not be returning. Auburn club was 100% better. Should not have closed it.
For those looking for the bistro (closed 5 years ago) or the Chinese Restaurant (closed 18 months ago for renovations) will be disappointed however they have a great snack bar with decent meals if you are hungry. The usual burgers, wraps and toasted sandwiches along with main meals with chips and salads. We had a quick meal here before a meeting and it was just fine. It probably does compete with other eateries around the Granville area. Plenty of parking in the club car park.
Disgusting service. Came on a Tuesday with no booking. Got rudely told to go to the back of the massive line. 45 minutes later, we got in at about 8:30 pm. Lack of food, buffet was not being replenished. Whats the point of letting us in for? Never again.
Review is for the Lucky Buffet in Granville RSL. Was always pleased. Came here several times in 2009. I think people who run the place are new and have done so for a year or two.
Food quality was mostly good. Just like any cheap buffet, steer clear of the bad stuff or stuff you don't like. Though most times I got something from every station. It can be described as honest food. This place is packed most nights of the week which gives them good turnover. Probably a reason why their food is very fresh.
This place is basically a food court so it isn't a place for fine dining. The ambience was always good as the crowds weren't making the place squashy yet gave the place a good vibe. Try to come here when they have the midweek evening specials.
First time I visited this club I left very un-happy and happy to never return. I returned a second time (was not my choice), was much better, food seemed to be a lot fresher and better value for money, staff were still rude and looked un-happy to be there.
The ambience of this place isn't great in the dining area, but nice and relaxing in the gaming. The service is definitely poor in the dining area, the bar women are usually very rude, when you don't look over 18 they just give you a blank stare and say "I.D". I only go twice a year for family occasions. I wish they'd choose somewhere else. This RSL use to be great, I think it must've changed. management.
