Recently had a lunch on a voucher... great value. Having said that the full prices on the menu are a bit rich... but having said that the lamb rump was one of the best meals I have had... so tender and mouthwatering. So if you don't mind paying $30pp for lunch try it.
Have been here a handful of times, today was the first in about 3 months and what a shock. The burger was disgusting, it was on the menu as handmade wagyu patty but was in fact a thawed out cowpat with fake scorch lines. Croutons on the salad were burnt and stank of rotten oil, the chips likewise. Needless to say we won't be back!
We have been, a couple of times a month, regulars for a few years now and up until the last month or so have found the pub to be a great place for a relaxed meal and a few drinks. Unfortunately, our last two visits have been quite disappointing, the food has gone from great, not-to-fancy, pub meals at a good price to, barely edible and boring food that is not value for money.
Furthermore the wine policy (for drink there bottles) has changed from being able to select a wine from the entire range of takeaway wines, and pay a small surcharge to have it opened, to a poor selection of six wines on offer. On a positive note all the staff are always friendly and attentive.
We stayed at the Moorepark View Hotel in waterloo and had a fabulous time excellent value, meals were fantastic room was clean and comfortable and considering we had two children with us we could not have been made to feel more comfortable by the happy helpful staff, it was so enjoyable we will be staying there again in july to jo and the staff thanks so much.
Live locally, have been going to this pub for over 3 years. Amazing new chef, great food and excellent value for money. The bar staff really welcoming and friendly. However, the staff is rude and obnoxious and tends to shut the bar regardless of how many patrons and/or if they are dining as early as sometimes 9pm. He seems to revel in making customer's feel unwelcome maybe he needs to realise he is in the customer service industry. Clearly unemployment is way too low if someone with such a lack of skills is left in charge of a 'local' pub!
For a local this place is great - it's modern, clean but not wanky, and cheap! The food is great (just avoid the steak because they tend to be on the chewy side!) and the service is fantastic - you'll soon become part of the furniture in this place.
The greatest Australian pub in Sydney. Go on either a thursday or friday nights and you are bound to have a great feed, a cold beer and a good laugh. You will no doubt see the 5 local boys running a muk cranking the jukebox full of 80s and 90s classics. Great music, good service and awesome ambiance. MPV rocks, don't expect a packed out pub though but do expect a great night and a good laugh.
The seven dollar meals are great, especially the chicken snitzel. The steak though is very tough, thin and poor quality over all. Vege's are also straight from a frozen packet! The beer is great and cheap though.
