First time visitor to this establishment recently. Overrated, overpriced, inconsistent meals, should I continue?

We had a party of 14 people. Several of us ordered the grilled salmon fillet. When it arrived, we noticed that the fillet size varied from plate to plate. Not by a little, but hugely. The thickness was consistent but the width of my peice was 1.5 inches while the person next to me had one that was 3.5 inches wide. The sizing was all over the place.

The Fish tasted nice and was cooked perfectly but I was still hungry! Dessert was nice, tiny, but nice. I thought the meals were over priced and they slug you hard for drinks. The staff were generally indifferent. My second coffee never arrived.

Would not go back by choice. What ever happened to creating a "dining experience"? It's not that hard. Consistent food, reasonable prices for what is offered and staff that are "people friendly" and not just grumpy robots.

Had lunch here recently with some buddies. Being Greek, I am a harsh critic of Greek restaurants. The food has to be as good and as authentic as my mum's! I was surprised! This place not only had great food but also excellent service to top it off!

It is certainly not a "taverna" style. It is more fine dining. Very nice place for a business lunch, romantic dinner or just a get together with friends. I had a top time and I will certainly go back with my wife. Definite "thumbs up".

Visited 30th Dec with my wife and two sons (18 and 20). We booked a table for 7:30 and arrived on time. We waited 10 minutes to be seated which was pathetic considering it was not even half full. It took 15 minutes before someone took our meal order and when I tried to order drinks with the same person, I was told that a "drinks waiter" will be with us shortly. The "drinks waiter" was busy having a chat at the cash register with another staff member! After about 5 minutes, she appeared and took our order.

We ordered 4 mains (2 x Pasta, 1 x Lasagne, 1 x Chicken with prawns plus bread to be served With mains). The meals arrived 45 minutes after we ordered (remember they were less than half full). The 2 pastas were dry, the lasagne was literally no more than 2cm thick and it looked extremely unattractive. My wife said it tasted "ok". My son said his chicken and prawns dish tasted Ok but the sauce looked like it was made then cooled waiting for the other dishes and microwaved to reheat it.

4 simple meals and they botched it up. Furthermore, they forgot to serve the bread but did not forget to charge us for it. Staff were apathetic. It seemed a real chore to be serving tables and looking after guests. The Maitre d' did complained to us how long a day she had.

The total came to $105 (I had them deduct the bread charge) for 4 very sad meals, disappointing service and a dose of indifference from the staff. I know that in today's world $105 is not a lot to pay for 4 meals in a restaurant, but rubbish that was served along with their pathetic attitude and disorganisation, even $50 would have been too much to pay!

Oh yes, and to top it off, they charged me and extra 50 cents to use Eftpos, I paid them directly from my savings account with No cost to them, and they surcharged me! Yes, 50 cents is not a lot, but that topped it off for me. Absolutely Not recommended.

Either get your act together Roma or quit the restaurant industry. You are not doing Port Macquarie or the hospitality industry any service the way you are currently performing.

Seriously good food with generous servings. Great suburban restaurant.
This place is always busy and they have a roaring take-away business!
I would seriously recommend this place for either take-away or a sit in meal.
Service is great as are the prices. I have mentioned it to friends that live close by and they all seemed to know about it and also agreed with me about the good food and generous servings. Seems I was the only one in the dark about this place!
Give it a go, you wont be disappointed!

If you want true French food and a French experience, then go to this place. Food is excellent and good value and that is why this place rates so well in my book.
Visit this place with a good bottle of wine and good friends and you will have a great time!

Being Greek, I am rather fussy regarding Greek food. Nobody cooks as good as my mother!, but this place comes close! Very close. The staff are welcoming and the food is traditional. The place is popular so a booking is recommended.

I have eaten here on a number of occasions and it has been great each and every time. I have been there with my wife and kids as well as taken parties of up to 14 friends and they have always been great.

With groups, I would recommend the banquet which is a shed load of food including coffee and dessert for under $50 per head. And I mean a Heap of food!
I have never had a bad comment heard about this place. The only possible absolutely minor issue is that it can get just a little noisy, not "annoying" noisy, more "everyone having a good time" noisy, but this also adds to the atmosphere!

If you have ever been to Greece and eaten in a Greek Taverna, then this is the closest thing that you will find to that experience here in Sydney! Recommended! I'm sure you will enjoy it, and hey, don't take my word, look at the other reviews!

I'm a Greek from Sydney visiting Melbourne on business. I chose this restaurant because it had very faourable comments from this site. I have to say that the comments are pretty spot-on. I would certainly recommend it highly. Food is excellent - I had the taramosalata, Greek salad, dolmathes and lamb souvlaki. Nothing too complicated but all cooked and presented perfectly. It is a taverna typical of the ones I have eaten at in Greece.

The service was prompt, my waiter - Costa, remembered my name from the moment I walked in until I left. He was courteous, prompt and friendly. I met the owner, Stefano, who came and sat down for a few minutes to have a chat - maybe because I was dining alone - who knows?! I was then offered a small plate of complimentary desserts which included galaktoboureko and baklava as well as some small pieces of fruit.

Overall, the experience was excellent. I would not hesitate to go back again and even take clients. In one sentence: excellent decor and ambience, great food, family run friendly feel, top service - don't think twice, just go!

Unimpressed. Being Greek I thought it sounded like a good night out but it was very ordinary. Saturday night and the place had maybe 25 people (it's set up for around 200). Food was ordinary. Service was adequate at best. Atmosphere/abience is not worth talking about. It was a mistake going. I will not make the same mistake again!
