Seated straight away. Specials explained. Service wise it was completely fine. The food is what lacks. The sashimi deluxe doesn't have much or a variety. The tuna was impossible to chew on. I'm guessing it was the part of the fish they presented. The fresh wasabi was so mild and not green. It threw me off so the sashimi was consumed with just soy.

The crispy scallops were quite great. Favourite. The Zushi roll had a very Korean kimbab taste. I liked how it was slightly bland, however that's just personal taste. The spider roll was not my thing, but my friend enjoyed it.
Special of the day was sukiyaki. I can do better really.

Ambience: We sat upstairs which I really liked. Wooden walls and the wooden display on the ceiling caught my attention. It was slightly distracting. All very neat. Plum wine sangria: Not bad at all. I wouldn't mind coming here again for predrinks and entres then go elsewhere for mains and dessert. They need a wider range of desserts. Value: For food, I can definitely have better elsewhere.

The reviews seem to state that the banquet isn't worth it. Lucky my friends and I didn't order the banquet. We actually made a reservation somewhere else but they were incredibly rude and annoying we left and ended up at Emads. We were so glad.

We ordered so much food, way too much food and each dish was tasty. One of my friends had allergies so the waiter helped us out and was incredibly friendly.

Home made lemon juice is a must. Don't go with the banquet. Just order what you want to eat. Enjoy. As for upstairs, I have no idea what it's like.

I love the interior of this place. I have only been for drinks and dessert.
The tea brewed chai is actually not tasty. The tea-pot is so heavy. It's beautiful though. They should wash their cushions. The ice tea is just ice tea in a bottle with ice so ... I mean it's not that hard to make your own ice tea. You're paying $5.50 for a bottled drink full of preservatives.

Mandarin creme brulee was tasty since the mandarin taste was somewhat strong but not that impressive. Maybe just got for a loose leaf tea and coffee. I am pretty keen on trying dinner though. Till then, this is my opinion.

The interior is beautiful. The place is clean. I've had breakfast once and they sort of burnt the toast. A cafe shouldn't be serving food if it's burnt. There was something in my friend's orange juice and they said it was just orange skin... Um.... I don't want orange skin in my orange juice.

Banana bread and all the other stuff is tasty. I love this place for the interior and tea. You can't go wrong with tea. It' just hot water in a tea pot.
I'll try other food options one day. Definitely drop in.

Kawa is certainly a beautiful place. The artworks give it a lovely touch. However the food isn't even that great. Highly priced also. The platters aren't worth eating. The drinks are so bland, tasteless I couldn't even have one sip. It's always busy. I've been about 6 times but I've never been impressed. I'd rather eat elsewhere in Surry Hills.

I've been going regularly for a long time then took a break for about 3 months. The reason why I took a break was because once I found a piece of hair in my food. I had pretty much finished eating and found it in the sauce. The waiter didn't apologise or anything. I was a tad confused.

Funny enough it happened again recently, however, I found the piece of hair before I ate. The waitress was apologetic and brought out a new plate for me. Furthermore I wasn't charged for it, which was incredibly generous.

Now for the food: I personally don't like the mushroom polenta but everything else is quite great. Everything is relatively healthy. Their menus change by the season so they no longer have orange + poppyseed pancakes, which I miss so dearly.

The mad spud stack is always great and so is the Boxty. If you're not sure just try their specials. Moroccan Chicken Salad is so filling I can never finish it.
The place is really clean and they've actually replaced their furniture.
Sometimes I wish they were open till later but most cafes in the area close around 3 pm.

You're bound to be full no matter what you order.

I'm surprised no one has written a review yet. This neat sushi bar is located where Japan City used to be. The train is about 10m I think. There are tables of 2 and 4. Each table has an iPad for orders to go through. Currently all plates are $3 unless they're gold plates. I'm not sure whether it's going to stay at this rate but the food is actually great.

On a side note, the owner is the same owner as Sushi Rio (corner of Liverpool and Sussex st). This place does get quite busy but it is worth the wait. Just because it's $3 a plate it doesn't mean it's bad. It's actually better than most places in the CBD. Sushi Roll in World Square is terrible, yet the prices are much higher.

Always ask for fresh wasabi, don't eat the rubbish in the packets. Try to get a table instead of sitting at the sushi train bar as it is easier to order. I personally think it's one of the top 5 sushi trains in the CBD.

I've never had a bad experience here.Sure the lunch menu is rather limited but it has what I like to eat. The lunch portions are too generous, I really wouldn't complain if they gave less. The dinner portions are actually smaller.
I'm not big on salads so trust the other reviews.

I personally dislike all types of sausages, however the thai sausage is rather great.(Sai Qua) It's quite spicy too. Yes it's like chat thai but I do prefer it here. I haven't read all the reviews but the co-owner of Home Thai used to be the Chef at Spice I am. iPads + Louis Vuitton satchels on each waitress? Wow they must really trust their staff members.

It wasn't great but it has no changed. Within the last month I have now been twice. It's great to dine with friends as you can BYO and not rush. Other ramen places aren't really for dining in. However if you do want good ramen go to Menya.

I used to love this place however a few months ago I ordered take out. I was highly disappointed, the food had lost it's flavour and I found a bug in my laksa.
Haven't stepped in since.
