Great Food, Great Staff, Great Customer Service, Great prices BYO, Sure does beat the others for Quality and Service, the service and the food is always consistent. Never any change.

We just love the food here and eat here once a week, either at the cafe or take away.

What a find, we were bought by friends 2 months ago and have been back every week since. The food is Great, the service is great. You are able to book and BYO which is great also. Keep up the good work.

We now live in Brisbane and we wish there would be a Restaurant in Brisbane.
We sure do miss this food. We will be back soon for dinner.

Update: I recently returned to the Ultimo Restaurant here after 3 years away. The service has changed, it was great, they now take reservations, and they also take credit cards. They must have changed Management as it all works in well now and somebody who knows what they are doing is running it. Food was also great.

Previous review: I rang The Ultimo Restaurant on Wednesday 17/8/05 to make an enquiry and asked for the menu to be emailed or faxed to me (still waiting). I enquired about BYO no problem, Cash only, a booking for Thursday night no problem was the response.

I called back today Thursday 18/8/05 and was greeted by a rather grumpy person on the phone and the response was we don't take bookings for a small group 6 people. We got there at 7.10pm and were seated, one of the guests had taken beer, and he was told it is BYO Wine Only, so you cannot drink your own beer. NOT that we were told yesterday. When we were ready to order we had to beckon the waiter over to take our order or we would of still been waiting I think.

The food was as great as the Darlinghurst restaurant. Plenty to eat andas usual you never leave there hungry. We asked for the Bill, we were charged a BYO SURCHARGE PLUS A PER BOTTLE SURCHARGE for 6 people over 3 bottles it came in at $12.00. We called the manager over and I told him we have never been charged this, it's just like double dipping, he said well that's the way it is and walked off.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, most normal folk would have tried to work it out with the customer, but not this guy. Well after that we left to the last cent and told him he had lost us forever in any of their 3 restaurants. Darlinghurst, Double Bay & Ultimo, he said something to the effect couldn't you afford the $2 or $3 Surcharge.

Now please tell me is this the way to speak to customers? 4 of the guests at our table had never been to Una's and they have said they will never go back. Sorry Una's after all the years of visiting your restaurants; you have lost 2 old customers and 4 new ones.

Went here for dinner on Xmas Evening.

First time here, the food was great, the service was great, very busy & noisy.
Tamarind Prawns & Fish in Sambal were really good. The Redang Beef was just as nice. We will be back with more friends.

Great food and great service. Good selection of wine. What else do you need for the price. We will be back.

Update: We recently had a function here 21 July 2007 for 10 people, a reunion from a trip in Europe 15 years ago. The food came out hot and plenty of food on the plate. We all had lamb in different varieties. Service was great, very attentive waiter. What a great night. Nobody had anything to complain about. We had another great night at the Athenian. Thanks again!

Recently ate here for the first time for a Sunday Lunch. Great Food, especially the Zucchini Flowers for Entree. We will be back after we have saved some more money.
