Service was slow but friendly. BYO only Tues/Wed Licenced other times is not great. We, unfortunately, were there when there were 3+ screaming tables of annoying customers, spoilt it for everyone!

Not too bad for Newtown, good solid food, all fair not over the top great but worth a try! We had coconut prawns, pancake entree. Main sizzling beef wrap at $30 bit exy go for pork wrap.

After seeking 96% like on Urbanspoon, we were keen to try Chedi. This is where Eatability beats Urbanspoon, like/dislike is not enough to rate a restaurant. Duck salad was very nice. Pepper Corn Chicken also good! Fish cakes had egg added to make them lighter but not bad!

Good value, not best quality in world! Not a lot of vego options. Also Korean menu items and obvious Chinese staff, call me picky.

All round pretty good! Asking for wine glasses 3 times very very annoying! Food very nice, we were too full to finish. Seemed authentic! Gado Gado salad prepared as it should, unlike the horror Chinese version. Roti not great per my friend. Nasi Goring comes with 2 chicken drum sticks very nice. Entree spring rolls better than Chinese lol!

I was avoiding eating here due to bad reviews and low scores on Urbanspoon, however, its true what people say you have to try it yourself.

Nice little place in Newtown. Food was pretty good. We had 3 entrees and 1 main to share. The waitress was very friendly had very strong Czech accent which added to the experience.

Loved Essen much improved on Una's. The Dutch croquettes entree was very nice, as you would expect. I had the Chicken Schnitzel not massive but very good! The beer comes in 500ml large glasses for $10 each bit expensive but ok.

Shame about the terrible service, the food was quite good. We had the dumplings of course, the hand made noodles and prawn omelette. After being told to wait at counter for table, them giving table to others, then waiting again, then after finally getting on table waiting again while they served everyone else who arrived after us. Service makes a big difference. Think we will stick with Happy Chef, cheaper and they at least smile!

We usually have reasonable meal here, however, this time was the worst service I think have ever experienced. Maybe he was being paid $2 an hour, who knows. I certainly will never go back to that place. Consequently I am booking Korean near ChinaTown for 8 people, SSAM can kiss it!
