Bamboo Dumpling Bar just opened in Reservoir St Surry Hills, right behind the Royal Albert! I can see it all day from my work desk which is very distracting for a dumpling lover.

The dumplings are good (although nothing in the league of Din Tai Fung) and the service is fantastic. Great casual atmosphere and beer on hand! Definitely worth a visit.

Check it out. Service is fantastic, up there with the best in Sydney. The staff have fun and will do anything for you. Food was great: delicous fresh oysters, handmade ravioli was great and fried squid was super tasty. The 'sausage roll' was a bit strange though. Cocktails were good and a great wine list of course. Definitely will go back many times.

Wow did that lasagne really happen to me? Never in my life have I had tasted a lasange as good as this. You must try it. Also shared the mozzarella salad which was also divine. Not cheap but worth it. Portions are generous and the service is great. Will be back as soon as I can.

Absolutely amazing. Tuna sashimi was the best I have every had. Kingfish carpaccio was divine! Go go go.

Pros - great selection of beer. Fantastic. The tasting paddle is a great idea.
Cons - it reeks of stale beer. The food is ok but not great for the price. Do the pros outweigh the cons, probably. Check it out.

Great for a large group or party. The place is lively and the Spanish dancers are a nice touch at 9 pm when you've had a few drinks. Look, the food is pretty good, not fantastic but it doesn't seem to matter. Take a group of friends or family and have fun.

Only great things to say about this little treasure, delicious tapas, great wine list and awesome staff (say hi to the chef Shuneek). Each dish I had was outstanding, you must try: Scallops with avo salsa, mini ribs with black beer sauce, meat balls, garlic prawns and stuffed mushrooms. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Oh and Wednesday night they have free tarot reader! What's not to love?

I can't complain about anything really except the price. Two mains, garlic bread and coffee for two = $84. Too much for what it was, unfortunately, I won't be back.

Fantastic! Having tried and tested all the Thai around Coogee/Randwick over the years, Chat Thai is my new favourite. Why? Because its quick, inexpensive, open seven days, they deliver and the dishes are different and simply better than the run-of-the-mill. Been a handful of times and each time it's been outstanding. Going tonight actually.

It was busy. I understand a large group can throw things off in the kitchen and on the floor, but we had booked in advance the $25 per head banquet for a birthday.

The entrees arrived and there was not nearly enough for everyone. The vegetarian entree never arrived. When asked, the staff couldn't tell us what was in each dish. The mains arrived at various times and were demolished before the next one arrived. I missed out on some dishes because there just wasn't enough. The vegetarians missed out again.

The food was delicious. If there was more of it, our vegetarians were looked after and it came out on time it would have been a fantastic birthday dinner. For some reason we had to pay $32 per head which was a ripoff! I will definitely try the new Coogee Chat Thai, being a local, I'm sure a smaller group or a couple it would be fine.
