We went to the Surf Rock Hotel the other night. Started with drinks, including dolphin-infused vodka, and baby mouse liqueur (imported from japan!), both of which were delicious. We had dinner after, but there was a limited menu consisting of two choices for each entree and main.
The entrees we shared, which were the "steamed baby elephant" and the "Greg and Walter special salad with a roll". Both were incredible. The elephant meat melted in our mouths, and we loved the Greg and Walter special salad, which was served with a lovely, creamy A.S.S sauce (which is is one of the Terrey Hills brewery's famous sauces). We couldn't decide between the mains, which were "raw fresh river dolphin sushi" or the "rare wombat steak", so we ordered half each.
The wombat was so tender, perfectly cooked. The raw river dolphin (imported from japan) sushi was good, although I found it to be a bit raw and undercooked. However, that was made up for by the incredible service. Our waitress even gave us another roll! Overall, I recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely beach atmosphere and good food!

Lat-Dior African restaurant is amazing. They have everything to suit all people's digestive preferences. We went there on Friday night with our midget friend Sammi (who was visiting us from Somalia and is only 4 feet tall), and he was delighted to see authentic, traditional African food on an Aussie menu. He said "The way the chef cooks the Deep-Fried Giraffe is just like the way my mother makes it in my home town of Darkaburka". Coming from a real African, that says a lot. I don't know much about African cuisine, but we enjoyed sharing the Two Short Ribs, and the Two-Pack Shakur, which is an African-American delicious combination. Try this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Chilli Spot is difficult to review, as the quality of the food changes depending on who is working there at the time. There are two regular chefs/owners, a woman and man, who work there that always serve great food. Whenever the restaurant is left to the younger random workers there, it falls flat on it's proverbial anus. The last time I went there, I ordered a Tom Yum mushroom and coriander soup, which is my usual. However, when I opened it, the bright crimson sight and skanky smell of a Trident supermarket instant soup hit me. No coriander or lemon grass to be seen either. How dare you! I demanded my money back, and got it. When the main lady/owner starts running the place again, I will go back. If it weren't for the young morons running the place sometimes, I would give it 10/10.

This place serves very good food and drinks. Some of the specials are excellent if you go there early, such as the Greg Special Fried Rice. It contains 100% real Greg, and after you've finished your first roll, you are guaranteed to be attended to by the lovely head server Walter, who asks oh so politely "Would you like another roll?", while offering us a miniature tennis racket. Great service on his behalf. It was strange though, that my 98 year old wheelchair-ridden grandfather was asked for I.D by some big black security guard. All he wanted to do was see the band, and he had to stay outside in his wheelchair for being underage. Not cool.

Wow! This place is stunning! We booked a table for 19, and upon entry, we were greeted by 6 lovely Greek children who led us to our table while chanting in unison "pwleesshe! pwlueesshe!" or equivalent, which I found out from the head chef means "Please" in ancient Greek.
The ambience of this place is astounding. There are gold statues of "St Peters the Great" (Greek god), who coincidentally, was the co-founder of the great suburb of St. Peters, Sydney, in 1789. The lovely waiter informed us that the other statue, in pure Silver, was St, Peters' wife "Sandrina the great". We had all the specials, such as the "deep fried elephant in coconut oil" and "zucchini fritters with special raccoon sauce" and the breads, baked with pure unadulterated greek henna wax and balsa smokewood, were amazing! All 19 of us ate there, and it only cost our party under $200. Good stuff guys! and for sure mate coming back again. this december!

What can I say except "Bad!"? Ok, they have some interesting beer flavourings, such as lime, lemon, mango, pomegranate, licorice etc, plus some strange beer flavours such as fennel, sewered bum, pine nut, and haggas beer, but who cares?
The service was awful. We had a table for 12 booked there. Instead of placing us at the "Halloween Surprise" table like we ordered weeks in advance, they moved us to the "Special Donkey Room" because there were fewer horses in there for the showcase. It would have been ok, because the waitress was really nice, but we think she had a really difficult time serving all our food and drinks while on horseback.
Luckily the amount of garlic in the food covered up most of the horse smell. I don't particularly mind horses, but a few of our table had to miss out on the delicious "Seven Mushrooms with Dolphin" and the awesome "Fetta, Cherry and Vinegar Baby Goat" as they were too engulfed by the horse manure wafting in from the balcony. I personally really liked the food though.

I used to love this place 5 years ago! However, things at Emelia's have taken a drastic turn. First of all, let me say that the vegan nachos are quite good, and secondary, the soy-gluten ribs with fake pork fillet. However! They seem to have substituted some eco-friendly devices (all for a good cause) that interfere with the speed of the cooking and service. We waited for half an hour for our coffee just so their solar generator (at night!) could pump the coffee machine.
When we complained about the mosquitoes, they told us that all animals have feelings and they wouldn't shut the door or turn the zapper on, as it would take too much out of their night-time solar generator and cause our meal to cook slower. Last of all, we tried to pay by American Express card, and they told us they were cash-only. But I still paid for the bill, thought it was $270 in rupees in our native India. Then we both fart and went home. Very good time.

At Mamma Lina's Cafe, we ordered the Creme De Virgine. The waiter was demanding that I place my order 3 times, once when he had the dish in his hand about to place it on the table. When I finally tasted the Creme De Virgine I wasn't immediately satisfied as it was the first time I'd ever eaten Creme De Virgine. First off, I couldn't decide to start at the front or the back, so I just played with it for a bit with the fork, spun it around and closed my eyes and stuck my spoon right in, and Voila! It Happened! Just as the waiter had the audacity to point out that most people eat the Creme De Virgine with a fork, but being unconventional, I had already forged ahead with the spoon.
When the manager confronted me, I pretended to be Chinese, and so he offered their apologies and said that if I wanted to eat the Creme De Virgine with a spoon or chopsticks, it would be ok, because he had seen one of his family members do it before (but it had been a long time since this happened). Overall, quite good food, and nice looking decor, with the family photos and dragons on the walls. 6/10

This restaurant, which is located in Melbourne, was suspiciously clean. I quickly took a swab of the table top and tested it for bacteria, and to my surprise, they must use a very powerful cleaning product! Not being easily convinced, I performed a similar test on the cutlery, and then our entree. The Salted Lemur was quite salty, which it should be as we have been to Africa before and experienced the best Salted Lemur there is to offer.
Our waitress called herself a "tart" which she put down to having a late night, but very nice. For the main course we had the "Keyboard Focaccia" which is made of alphabet-style olives and numeric-style alphabet pasta! We found the olives (letters) to be very moist, but the pasta (numbers) very dry and over-cooked, however, very good overall.
To finish, my wife and I shared the "tart", which was delicious and my mouth melted around her. The saliva dripped from my palate and my wisdom teeth ceased to hurt. We never went back again. Ever. Awesome restaurant.

"Yes, the good old wenty leagues club, always a great place to eat, especially the chinese restaurant inside, the "southern gardens". Great food. We had the salt and pepper whale, which reminded me of the time we visited hong kong's "szeschuan gazebo" restaurant in kow-loong. However, in hong kong, they have an aversion to american travellers using chopsticks. They offered the fine thin ones,
but neglected to give us serviettes.
So, in turn, we used the napkins to wipe our mouths and it was quite adequate. After we got back to the hotel, we were greeted by a very nice hong-kong-ese door-keeper who gave us some fresh hand-towels that were piping hot with added peppermint. That was nice. Overall, we had a great time in hong kong, and would definitely go to kow-loong province again, as long as the hand towels are still available for the same discount price. Thank you and god bless.
