We had take-away pizza from them and have eaten in the restaurant. Both times, this far, the food was great. Eating in, the service was exemplary. No complaints here. First class.

We walked in for breakfast at 8am on Saturday morning and found this to be a most pleasant and lovely little place to eat. The crisp, white with azure-blue decor is matched with the sunny disposition of the staff! They are also open for lunch and dinner most days per week. My companion ate a simple and well-made dish of poached eggs, bacon and toast. I had excellent (thick, fluffy and not-too-big) pancakes with Greek yogurt, fresh berries and Canadian maple syrup. The coffee was superb, of course!

We came in for breakfast around 9am on Sunday and were informed that the chef doesn't get in before 9.30am. However, the barista made our coffees, fruit toast and cheese bacon souffle. Well, we can't complain! The cafe itself is airy and light with tasteful decor and lots of goodies to take away. We have since returned for dinner. The elegantly sufficient and reasonably priced menu (seasonal) caters for the diner looking for light & luscious no fat to delectable full fat extravaganzas! Drinks, entree, dinner, wine, dessert & coffee for two cost us $125.00.

We've been a couple of times so far and the food is tasty, the waiters are attentive and the experience always pleasant. It's the perfect little local place that every town needs (and you can always get extra bread when you ask!).

My garden salad starter and trout main course was beyond reproach. They grow the salad greens in their own garden and the salad glistened with a delicate, yet piquant, tarragon dressing. You can definitely taste the difference. The trout was panfried and sitting on a bed of potato slice and tomato dice with a subtle, tasty dressing - utterly simple yet delicious, and if you are counting calories, perfect!

The service was professional - just how it should be. Our group of nine women had a separate dining room which I always like. Granted, the price is on the expensive side but for a romantic dinner or a special occasion, Eschalot is definitely on my favorites list.

Small and intimate restaurant located in an old building. You can see the chefs in the kitchen from the dining area. The food was delicious. We ordered several entrees between the two of us and enjoyed every bite. Recommended.
