Yummy food, very reasonable prices. My pick? Kerala paratha and the chicken butter masala. Or just a plain cheese dosa. Try to steer clear of the bainmarie!

Best pork buns Ever! I also love the combination noodles, char kway teow and while I know it's not all that adventurous, there's something about the honey chicken that is fan-bloody-tastic with all its sesame stickiness and the styrofoam-like noodle bits!

Its "cousin" was Wing Loong, on Heffernan Lane in China Town and that place was definitely more of the "sit down" restaurant you'd go to. I've been going to Wing Loong with my family ever since its humble beginnings in Footscray, so sad to see it go, however, Nam Loong has the exact same menu, even printed on the yellow cards identically in all their glory.

I had high expectations of this restaurant but I was bitterly disappointed. It was a Saturday night we had a reservation for, and walking in at 7:30, it was near empty.

We were seated and the waiter (however, attractive and exotic-sounding he might have been) was a little too overbearing for the first few minutes, strongly insisting we select the churrascaria for our meal, saying it was the best value for money and spruiking the salad bar like it was something out of this world.
We agreed, thinking it would be nice to try something different, but boy, were we let down.

The lamb was red on the inside but too charred and so burnt on the outside it was difficult even to cut into. The chicken tasted like nothing. The pork was okay. Ham and pineapple was alright too, but it seemed too festive and out of place with all the other types of grilled meats on offer.

The calamari and fish were almost plastic in their texture, so rubbery they made me wince. And do Not get me started on the 'spiced sausage'. They were burnt to a crisp and tasted like a cake of salt. Ewww. The beef was the only grilled meat that I felt was up to scratch, because it had some flavour and it was cooked through without being burnt like everything else!

The salad bar was Not what a typical salad bar should be, with small plates of dips and vegetables that didn't even appear appetising. The potato salad which we were told was a speciality of theirs was disgusting. Peas? In a potato salad? And I'm pretty sure potato salad with cream is not meant to be lukewarm?!
We were planning at the start to stay for dessert but after such an awful experience with our main, we dared not try.

Then to top off the Fantastic night, we called the check only to then wait almost half an hour as our waiter contended with multitasking and a restaurant that was now chaotic and overcrowded with people.

The only plus side as my sister remarked walking away, (and excuse my vulgarity here) was that the waiters were hot. As in they were quite good looking. Unfortunately, looks aren't everything.

Never going back and do not recommend in the slightest. $49 pp for that nonsense is despicable. It was so bad it's even put us off from going back to try what's on the actual menu besides churrascaria.
