On our way out to the Inverloch area for a trip we stopped by this little shop because a family friend mentioned how excited they were about this place. Firstly it wasn't a restaurant but we were warned about that. It is a simple asian takeaway shop but we were surprised about how great the food was. Menu had enough variety for us to have to stand aside and let others order first while we reviewed it. Customers seemed to all be friends/friendly with the owners and vice versa.
Excellent value for the quality and size of the meals we received. Only problem was it was just a take away shop.

For a Yum Cha place so far away from asian areas like springvale and boxhill this place wasn't too bad. Food did not have the same variety as other places like shark fin/dragon boat and it only tasted a little tiny bit worse but still acceptable.
Ambience is very nice and peaceful. Plus side is this place is nowhere near as crowded as sharkfin so we don't need to sit there waiting for trolleys or waiters to serve us.
I heard you can tell how good service is by taking the lid off your tea pot and seeing how long they take to refill it. Ideally it should be the instant you take the lid off because they should be watching you all the time. About 4 seconds at golden leaf but I attribute that mostly to it being so quite.
Price is the same as other yum cha houses close by.

After reading good reviews I was eager to visit this place. But after a dinner there I will never be returning or ever recommend this place again. We only ended up there because our favorite ramen joints were closed this late at night.
The food was a complete joke, gyoza that contained little filling and ramen that was the bare minimum to be called a ramen dish. Plain noodles and whatever meat you ordered with it in soup that was just water and soysauce.
The service wasn't rude exactly mostly ignorant of how to be a proper waitress. Food was also brought out unevenly and someone ended up eating their main before their entree was even brought out.
Atmosphere is tight and overcrowded with conversations from each table been easily heard by the 4 tables surrounding them. Not a nice place to have dinner especially when there is some loud bragging guy screaming about how cool he is to impress girls on the next table.
For the prices they are asking I expected a real ramen dish containing at the least some narutomaki or the normal assorted vegetables. If you are really looking for a nice ramen dish try Ramen-Ya at the GPO (personal fav.) or the least Ajisen Ramen. Same prices and real ramen dishes.

Best pizza joint in the city. I always recommend it if we are close by and in the mood for pizza. Quality pizza with fresh quality toppings and $13 for a large is a good deal. Try the Americana and the vegetarian. Being a takeout joint I recommend a delivery or pickup and not eating in as premises is quite lame.

If you enjoy the traditional ramen style stalls in Japan you won't be disappointed here. You sit outside on uncomfortable stools like in Japan and the ramen is awesome! One of the best in Melbourne. I think it was around $12 for the cha siu ramen and the service was very fast. Just don't expect to be sitting comfortably with friends having a quiet conversation.

In regards to the other comments about the temperature I went on a 38 degree day in Dec09. I personally did not feel hot and thought the temp was okay inside. 2 people at my table, however, complained about it being hot.
Anyway, it cost me about $50 for bruschetta, cannelloni, glass wine, and a coffee, that is over priced in my opinion. The menu seems more asian now than italian and I believe the cooks are more experienced in asian cooking than italian.
Taste wise it was pretty average. Nothing unique, tastes like anything I can make myself at home with those premade sauces and pasta from the supermarket.
Service was great and so was the ambience.

I only go here as a last resort. Usually just have an overpriced chicken parma and some beer while I watch drunk idiots fight and knock tables/patrons over. They try to aim for a family/function place but there are so many other better places close by in berwick.

Had their "special risotto". It was pretty bad, the huge chunks of salami sausages overpowered taste of overall meal. Ordered a Tokay and they brought me a muscat instead, still had to pay for it.

Food was average. Staff was very unhelpful. Don't be fooled by the 'all you can eat for 1 hr' deal. It takes 10 minutes to bring out your bbq. 20 minutes of waiting for them to bring out food for you to cook and then 10 minutes to cook it. So they plan it out so you really only can have maybe 2 plates of food before your time is up, go to a buffet or a real restaurant where you actually get something for paying that much.

Service was slow, sigh the place was just bad okay...it...it was just very bad, it felt bad nobody there was happy the place just didn't have the feel of a nice welcoming place and food was bad.
