Went here today for lunch, and wednesday's meant half priced mussels. We chose the mushrooms and tomato mussels, both had their own unique taste. It was great value for money along with chips. The service was slightly slow and waitresses did ignore my mad hand waving. The drinks took 20 minutes to come out and arrived after our meal. Not particularly impressed with the service, but the food was good.

Was definitely left disappointed by the lack of ambience and slow service. Went home smelling as if I'd smoked a packet of cigarettes. The food was nothing special, and was relatively expensive for the price they were charging. The green tea ice-cream was quite nice, so were some of the beef fillets and scallops. The service was terrible! Waited 20 minutes for a salad, and more servings of meat. There's also a time limit, not sure if they're purposely being slow, so there's less time for you to eat. All in all, wouldn't recommend to families with children, perhaps people who can withstand the smoke.

Haven't been here in ages, and thought I'd go try it out with a friend. From what i use to remember the serving sizes were significantly larger than now, especially the beef ribs and pork ribs.

The service was impeccably bad. I ordered cocktails, ice tea, glass of wine. By the end of the night only the ice tea arrived, even after explaining to the waitress of our dilemma.

The pork ribs came out cold, not even warm but cold. Tasted disgusting and was sent back. The beef ribs have the same taste as a couple of months back and it was the only satisfying dish that night. Finally the pancakes (they really weren't that amazing) had the hot N troppo, it was okay, nothing fantastic. (bananas were tiny)

I'd recommend the devil's delight instead. Overall, my opinion for this place has changed and I don't think i'd ever go back for the grill. Definitely stick with the pancakes.

I was looking at eatability at the other reviews before I went to Kansai and it seemed that there were different opinions regarding the atmosphere and food.
I have just went today and was quite pleased. The food overall was expected, nothing too great but it was decent for the value. I recommend instead of getting sushi with eel etc on top, you can just order the eel etc seperate, instead of wasting all that rice.

Overall I would recommend Kansai for a casual enjoyable meal and for big appetites.
