A new contender for the worst restaurant in Darling Harbour now that Jordon's is closed. Staff who rather not be there, a wine list that's out of all the cheaper wines (I wonder why) and a standard food at highly touristy prices, a tourist trap, ignore it if you are a local.

In a market of next-gen, too cool for school attitude, plasticware, stoneware, wooden plates, bare timber, steel tables, there is a classic where the owner maitre d' welcomes you, takes your coat and seats you while warmly chatting to you on the way, where owners son serves you in a warm and informed style and where you get what you order, a classical and delicious Italian fine-dining food.

Lucio's is such a rarity and a national treasure.

My new found love for modern Asian flavours served in a non-pretentious Ivy way although owned by the same company. Chef is clearly inspired by David Chang's Momofuku and he delivers on the flavours and style, great buzzing place. Cocktails are great and the plastic cups are a brilliant touch.

A very solid experience, it delivers on its promise of a family run, authentic Italian restaurant with a Sicilian touch. Charming service, full-on flavours and loud and cheerful Italian famiglias on every table. Meatballs are my - and the crowds by the looks of it- favourite.

Prime example of a small "hood" cafe where you know the owner and the regulars and feel at home, only if mum could make coffee as good as this to go along with the avo bruschetta, missed it dearly.

I can say this is the best sandwich place in Sydney, not that they are the biggest secret looking at the queues everytime we go in. BBQ chicken is to die for. If you can ever find a spot, little backyard is great too much in to these heavenly sandwiches.

If you are promoting a great deal as merivale does so efficiently, $33 main+beer or Chandon wine/ sparkling-, then don't be upset if people come for it and do not treat them differently than the "full paying" customers. We were lucky to use this deal at est. last year and service was faultless. Unfortunately, it was exactly the opposite at this place.

Had a group of 10, from the beginning the service was patronising and demeaning as if we were more of a hinderance than paying customers. Drink service was non-existent, food took over an hour to arrive (supposedly because there was one well done steak ordered, if you are naive enough to believe well done steak takes that long to cook) and there was never an apology or check back when complained about the delay.

There was a stuff-up with the account since there was two cards for payment, but by then the whole group gave up on Mad Cow. I have visited Ivy and Establishment in many occasions and despite some mixed reviews about the stuck-up service have always had great experiences up to this one. It was quite upsetting to have such a terrible service letting down an otherwise fine establishment.

Best cakes and pastries in Sydney by far, lucky to have it so close to our home. I always leave it up to the selection of staff and they never disappoint.

Went for the $35 special one course, what a fantastic deal. Unfortunately, I thought quality of the produce was sacrificed to match the value, my lamb rump was very standard and under flavoured, partners fish was cooked very well but again the flavours were not mouth bursting. At this level, 3 hats I was maybe expecting the quality of other hatted restaurants, but still what a fantastic value to have the experience at such an affordable price.

A very solid experience last Friday, place was pumping, service was immaculate, better than most so called fine dining establishments. I went there with an English friend who complained there was not any decent curry in Sydney, he was most impressed. Try Murg Peshwari, it's yum and authentic, not the Aussified version of an Indian dish.
