Uliveto gets things right: the newly decorated and expanded place is very welcoming, great music, loyal staff, yummy food, a great outdoor area, dog friendly. I sometimes go twice in a day, and everybody I bring loves it. I recently had a lasagne with leek and chicken that was absolutely divine. One of the waiters also prepares some of the food and the desserts, he is very talented.

Owner Walter is enjoying his time serving customers. You just need to be patient for your coffee, they make it with love and care, no rush rush tasteless coffee here! I don't understand the negative comments here on the service, I am a regular and always had great service. I just wish it was just around the corner from where I live, I could see myself go every day.

Chris and Will are wonderful hosts, they are attentive, make you feel special, remember your favourite coffee, and take time for a chat, even when it is super busy (which it often is!).

The food is healthy, yummy, good portions and great ingredients. When Will and Chris are not there, the service is very sloppy though, and I avoid the place when they are not there. The coffee lately tasted a bit burnt, I think they need to revamp the quality. But I am a regular and stay a regular, they are open early in the morning, even on public holidays. I love going there and look at the wanderers passing by. It's the heart beat of Potts Point.

I went recently for a meal with a friend, we had a lot to catch up about. We first went inside, but it was so noisy, that we fled outside. Even there, there were large groups, behaving in an embarrassing loud way.

Anyways, we gave it a another go, after having had a rather good experience about a year ago. However, this time it was a terrible experience. The food was not fresh, it tasted like it had been cooked days earlier and heated up several times. The croquettes were burnt on the outside, the tortilla soggy and greasy, the meatballs looked like they came out of a can of dog food, and the other dishes were not very warm.

The waiters are hip and fun, but not very professional. I don't think I will ever go there again. This is far from the tapas I had in Spain. There are other tapas places that are a lot better in Sydney. This place seems to cater for groups, and if you want an evening of yelling and screaming, this will be your favourite spot. And, it was very expensive too. We paid $70 each for some tapas and some wine, not worth it.

Cafes, Italian, Has Cafe, Serves Dinner, Serves Lunch

Once you get over the hurdle of not being given a table until your whole group of friends is complete, you get a knack for knowing when is the right time to go in order to avoid long waiting times. Even so, the staff are very friendly and they keep an eye out for you until a table becomes available. Not suitable for tables over 4 people.

The food is amazingly delicious, and some dishes are very surprising (like the cod puree, divine!). It has the ambience of an italian market, and there is a very nice buzz hovering over the place. I love to go there, order and then do my food shopping for the weekend, very efficient use of time. Their fruit, veggies, cheese, past and oils are top notch quality. The menu is inspiring to cook at home too. The wines are very affordable, and my favourite spot to sit is at the bar, where you can interact with the staff.

Most of them are Italian, some are Canadian and French. It has a New York feel to it. Living in the area, it has become one of my favourite spots.

Great place to meet with friends prior to going out for dinner, or to relax after dinner for a drink, or to go for a cheese platter. The list of french champagne is very impressive, and they have a large variety of wines. The owners are often in the bar, and their knowledge of champagne is incredible. This place is a great secret to share with your best friend, it's ideal if you want to impress somebody, or if you want to celebrate a special occasion spontaneously.

The crowd is varied, going from lawyers to interior decorators to flight attendants to doctors to teachers. It's quite an elegant crowd. Even if you go by yourself, you are in for a nice moment.
