Food: Not much Viet food choices around Five Dock, closest would be Bankstown/Flemington for Pho noodle soup, Cabramatta/Fairfield is a bit of a drive. Don't expect traditional Viet dishes but modern smaller dishes. Banh Xeo pancake was not up to standard -soggy, summer rolls and pork chop dish were yum.
Ambience/Service: modern and much better than average pho decor places. prompt, waiter suggest special dishes, noisy table was nice to kitchen area, owner's boy playing gameboy on one table.

Went here on a weeknight night after work, had expectations seeing it was quite busy on the weekends.
Service: Not very welcoming waiters, greeted without a hello or a smile, when taking orders they didn't recommend any daily specials, also when I left they didn't say thank you or see you later.
Food: the pizza was enjoyable wood oven bit burnt around the edges, the risotto marina was way too salty and the serving size was huge. Drinks: ice water from the tap and a flat pepsi for $3.50. not good. I'll probably just get take-away next time that's if I decide to come back.

Just came back from this restaurant, friday night, don't go in summer! they have no airconditioning in the place! and its just been updated too. Food was good, service was rushed and staff knowledge of english food was very limited. eg. they didn't explain what is the house special dishes etc. Tip to restaurant: buy at least 2-3 new airconditioning units please.

Who said Chinese can’t cook Italian food? See who cooks in the kitchen in Bar Italia? Cafe Jolly is great place for a coffee and lunch, great risotto dishes and pretty good value, not like some over priced Italian owned cafe/restaurants in the area, quite busy on weekends.
Update: We went back around late December 07, the food is still great, and however the service is rushed. It’s like yup hi, what do you want to eat, here you go (very fast cook) then oh do you want anything else? Here’s the bill. Thanks. It’s still good but very busy. Better go on a quieter day.

I don't understand all these good reviews, have you guys eating any food apart from steam veggies? Don't fall for it guys. It's not worth it. I am so sick of prentious Sydney restaurants. You can cover up with wines and nice table cloths, but it comes down to the food and attentive service. poor food, over priced, rude stuff, biggest rip off in town. I don't mind paying for food if it's good.
Food: free entree tasting was good, they forgot one our entress meals (it came after 35mins after we finished our mains). Mains: a $8 bbq chicken would have tasted better than the rabbit dish I had. I was going to complain if it even was rabbit, but I don't eat rabbit every day so i just ate it. The meat was so tough and dry, mains are way over priced. The mains were not good value.
Ambience: great place, nice candle light, sat near kitchen entrance which was not that good with people waiting outside.
Service: typical rude French manner, felt wasn't good enough to eat there, more attention to larger tables, did not follow up with missing meals.
Value: Way over priced for the meals and location.
