I am so delighted that I live one block away from this amazing restaurant. This place proves that you dont need to pay $50 for a decent steak - I've had 5 different steaks from here and they were all very good. The fries are very delicious, and the perfect portion of salad comes with it. However, other types of mains I didn't have much luck with, although I cant wait to try their lambsbrain. I have taken my family and friends here and whenever they visit me from Sydney, they want to come back here. Has definitely become a favourite of my husband and I!

Bistro Vue provided the perfect saturday evening for me and my friend as we celebrated her visit to melbourne. Foie Gras wrapped in brioche and it was absolutely rich and delicious. The soft shell crab was the best one I've ever had. The mains (duck and cube roll) were cooked perfectly, my steak was a perfect medium! and the highlight was definitely the Tart Tatin - they were not joking when they claimed that many said it was the best Tart Tatin anyone's ever had. My friend and I were making so much sound while eating it, we were like Meg Ryan in when Harry met Sally. Creme Brulee was average. Our waitress was amazing! Sweetest, most helpful, and let us try the bordeaux cabernet merlot, which then we bought the whole bottle to enjoy. I will definitely be going back!

Pad Thai noodle was cooked to perfection with yummy texture and flavour (albeit prawns that was a bit blend), the green curry was one of the best that I've had, and chicken cashew chilli jam was very tasty, although I would've preferred the sauce a bit less watery. Only bad thing was that it's a bit pricy but it's on lygon street, and It's still much cheaper than lemongrass and the food here is 10 times better.

I'm not an expert but I've had one of the best ethiopian food at Harambe. Their meat as well as vegetarian options are very tasty, and the coffee ritual is very pleasant (I heard that the real one is like a few hours, so I appreciated that this one was 30 minutes). The coffee was served by the chef, whom I think must own this restaurant. She was very nice. This is a bit random but they also served popcorn at the end and that was really good too haha. Will definitely go back.

Tasty seafood and mushrooms, our chef, onco was funny and friendly, and the other waiting staff were very attentive. It's not authentic teppanyaki, with a different sauce for different types of ingredients and a lot more showmanship from the chefs. They have just one sauce, which was still tasty. I'd pay a little more to go to an authentic japanese one next time.

Good yumcha, but a bit expensive, also, it took 2.5 hours for us to have lunch because it took sooooo long for the dishes to come out. We ordered all of our dishes in the first 20 minutes. We left as soon as the last dish came out. Requiring a $100 deposit to book a table is a bit of an outrage, and shows that this restaurant is not that popular during weekdays. Pretty interior, though.

We had lunch there, I ordered lemon pepper calamari, my hubby had fish and chips. The food was fantastic, and it was good value compared to other beachy places in melbourne. Only downside was that despite friendly waiters, our food took 30 mins to come out - maybe they were catching the fish and squid fresh, since our calamari and fish were very fresh. I'd go back.

Tasty thai food but nothing special. Hard to get the waiters attention, and the serving size is relatively small for a thai place. Maybe because of the location, the food isn't cheap either. But in carlton, this is one of the better thai places, so I keep going back.

I've already heard terrible things about this place but work was having a meeting here and was paying for the dinner so I went along. The food is below average, was often served lukewarm, and the service was terrible. The waiters were Ok but the waitress were super smug and snobby! clearing her throat if people were talking while she was explaining the dishes. What the hell? only thing decent was the interior decoration, and the location. Don't ever spend your own money here!

Real yummy oysters, snails were average. My main (Confit leg) was very delicious, and beef bourguignon was tasty but nothing special. Very friendly staff but it was super hard to get their attention, the waiter also served my campari holding the rims of the glass (not hygienic!). The price is Ok for French food. I'd like to go back, though, for the food.
