We went here for lunch after reading Mr Durack's review and followed his example ordering the charcuterie platter. This arrived on a wooden board, with plates for each of us and a basket of bread. The pate, cold cuts, etc, were very good but the item which had me drooling was the piccalilli.

This is fantastic, chunky pieces of veg with a delicious, tart, mustardy sauce. This is the relish they serve in Heaven. Nice wine list, good coffee, pleasant atmosphere and did I mention the piccalilli? On a score of 1 to 10, I give this 15.

We have been here a few times. Yesterday we called in for lunch. MM had the sirloin steak, blackened (in a good way) on the outside, blood running free inside, with chips (hand cut, perfectly fried) and bernaise sauce. I had the wild mushroom ravioli, in a deliciously buttery sauce. We then shared the cheese. Three cheeses, soft cheddar type and blue with oatmeal crackers, grilled bread and apricot chutney. Fantastic! Nice selection of wine by the glass, excellent black coffee, $87.00 very well spent.

We visited for the first time on Sunday. This was a special meal, highlighting raw, organic, gluten free food. Each course was delicious, my favourite was the shaved beetroot with citrus dressing. MM loved the petit four, raw chocolate cake. We have booked for the Sunday degustation lunch next month. We must also find a time to go for dinner sometime. 26th March 2012

We have been twice since, for the degustation on 29th April - a South American theme, most appropriate, as we are about to visit South America, then on Friday night for dinner. I had the spelt spaghetti with seafood, garlic, parsley and lemon, Meat Man had the pork belly. Both dishes were excellent and very filling. We had ordered some of the spelt bread as well and had no room left for cheese. Next time we may make a degustation from the tapas dishes.

MM and I had lunch here before going to the flicks. MM opted for the steak (that is why he is the Meat Man). It was charred outside, blood ran free when he sliced it, cheers all round. I chose the cabbage rolls, excellent! I make a pretty good cabbage roll myself but when cooking for two (sometimes three) it is not a worthwhile proposition. Depending on session times at cinemas we plan to return.

I had lunch here (solo) twice recently. The oysters were so fantastic first time I had them again on second visit, if anything, even better. Chose fish mains both times, both excellent. Good selection of wine by the glass, excellent coffee. Must try to tempt MM across the bridge for lunch when he is next in Sydney on a weekday.

MM and I have visited several times since the above. Most recently we had lunch on 29th April. The meal was very good. We headed straight to the mains, anticipating cheese for afters. MM had the lamb rump, served with some of the braised shoulder. Fantastic. I had the pasta with spanner crab and whatever, gorgeous! The cheese selection was excellent.

We had Saturday lunch here. MM had the beer battered fish and chips. This was a generous serving, well presented and tasty. I chose the caesar salad. The cos lettuce was sliced, not torn, and the egg was hard boiled, not poached or coddled. However, the dressing was delicious, the croutons and bacon recently cooked, the anchovies were plentiful (and the delicious white sort) and the excellent parmesan was shaved. We had some white wine and excellent coffees.

We read about the change to the Wharf. As we needed to go to the box office about some tickets, we decided this could be the spot for a light lunch. I had a slice of spinach, sun roasted tomato and egg tart (or something like that - I didn't take notes). MM had a sandwich. Both were very tasty. My tart was uniformly warm, thank goodness. So often things of this type are carelessly re-heated, resulting in almost frozen and scalding on one plate.

Long blacks were excellent. Nice choice of wines by the glass. Furnishing is simple. The view is just the same of course, incomparable. We look forward to checking out the evening menu.

We wanted something light, before the cinema, so ordered the antipasto platter. This was excellent, and excellent value. A few slices of just grilled chorizo, a generous amount of finely sliced cured meat, some cheese, small dishes of capsicum and olives, best of all, sufficient warm bread. We ordered two glasses of well priced red wine. The only disappointment was the lacklustre coffee.

We were disappointed here. Staff were unenthusiastic, especially when asked for tap water instead of something they could charge for. Selection on the sushi train was sparse, it appeared that those ordering specific dishes had to wait a while.

To celebrate the lunar new year, five of us visited Kushiyaki. Daughter and her beloved had been before, and daughter is more knowledgeable about Japanese cuisine. We shared a selection of dishes, including some very good tempura. The edemame were less salty than those I have had elsewhere (a salt grinder was provided for those who like things saltier).

Service was good. Daughter suggested going to a nearby cafe for dessert and coffee, like many Asian restaurants, desserts are not a strong point.
