It was sheeting down with rain when we go there so the view was kinda gone. The wait staff were good and didn't interfere with the four of our conversations.
Can't comment on the fish taste, though the portions looked small.
The Sashimi looked good and the other three enjoyed it. I had the beef which was very soft, had some flavour but was completely ruined by a sauce that burnt my mouth with the amount of salt in it, not just reduced flavour but salt upon salt upon salt, I tried it with a chip, but it even made that salty. So ended up trying to eat of the bread plate. Everything else was coated in this salty gravy. The beef again was small.
Dessert I had some kind of chocolate dome, looked nice but the taste was disappointing. For starter the Oysters were Ok, all in all, won't go back. Best thing about the meal was the coffee and the Negroni was good but then they're good at home too!

Great food and great service (From the Sushi chef). Lived in Japan for 10 years and my wife is Japanese, we had some of the best sushi we've had for a long time. Best we've had in Australia without doubt.
Can't really comment on any of the other food as we just ate sushi and sashimi till we couldn't move. Bit Pricey. As I remember it was $250 for the two of us with a couple of bottles of Sake but definitely a memorable meal.

The food was wholesome and the flavors were good, it really was like that no real character or anything but good solid tastes,, the chicken skewers a bit dry - they really needed some thing moist on, but the rest was 'good'. We got there early with a reservation on a weekday, after an hour it filled and we had to start shouting to hear each other, low ceiling, clean and non-cluttered ambiance, very very noisy. Will go back one day when we want Hummus but it's not a huge draw for us.

Wow.Great great food. Great value. Only downside is the noise, it's full of happy Chinese (Taiwanese?) eaters, which means it's loud. But the food soon makes you forget it. We live local so plan to try and limit ourselves to once a month, been twice and tried different things, still pretty jazzed : )

Hmm. Not sure if I agree with everyone else here. Just got back from Yok. It was indeed crowded with revellers and families alike. We had a two person reservation. And were able to shout to each other all night.
For the amount of people eating there were not enough staff, but hey, that's not my fault. In fact they kept running past us yep running and bringing chairs and tables, I dunno maybe I'm weird but I can't relax if that keeps going on.
Onto the food. We had soft crab in batter and a non-thai zucchini (also fried) and both may have been cardboard deep fried with a sweet sauce on for all I know. Onto the main well red curry and grapow, very sweet, both of them. And as I mentioned before the service well it wasn't there. I went to the counter myself to get some wine glasses and the water even after ordering it at the table, ordering twice in the waters case. (Had to go and get ny card back too as it was it had taken over 5 minutes).
The food not good (in my opinion), I have lived in Thailand for seven years and I'm afraid this food has been creamed, sweetened and fatted up for western and antipodean tongues which is great, unless you don't have that.
The food downtown at the foodcourts or nearer china town are better for us until we find something better. Everyone is different and according to the reviews this is one restaurant that delivers. We saw a different side, unfortunately. Wish I could have agreed.
