Love the decor, the sandwiches, the cakes and the presentation. The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. They cannot handle lunch times so I would suggest avoiding there between the hours of 12:30 and 2:00 pm. You can get lucky but I work nearby and mostly you have to wait to be served. You have to be pro-active, don't stand back and wait for someone to approach you.

We booked the private room for 11 people. Our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the only negative was for the 2 non-meat eaters as the seafood dishes did not contain that much seafood so we should have ordered larger qty's of those dishes.

I was particularly impressed with our host for the night, I think his name was David. He was so accommodating and friendly and kept me well informed of where we were at with wine and timing of the dishes.

Whilst there are other chinese restaurants in Sydney that serve just as good chinese food as this place I would choose to go back to Spice Temple because of the service and the atmosphere. It was a great experience.

My partner and I had a reservation for 8 pm. Upon arrival we were told I table was not ready and we could wait at the bar, which we did. After Round 1 drinks we were asked if we wanted another. I said that I would but thought it would be nice if it was 'on the house' as it was now 8:45 pm and we were still not seated. The barman said he thought this was fair enough but I would need to talk to the manager (I do not agree, I thought he should speak to the manager).

About 5 minutes later we were finally seated and ordered a glass of wine. About 5 minutes later we had to request menu's and our drinks had still not arrived. By this stage it was just after 9 pm and we were starving. We could not fault the food. Every dish was fantastic. But the service was not good and for this reason I am not sure that I would return and I don't know that I would recommend.

We ordered a 2nd glass of wine, when mine was poured it was the incorrect wine. One redeeming point was a friendly female waiter took 2 drinks off our bill after I mentioned the conversation I had with the barman. Summary: Good food, good atmosphere, they need to revise the amount of wait staff and the person that takes care of reservations.

Visited her on a Satruday night with a friend. Great atmosphere. We ordered the cheese platter which was great value for 2 (we could not finish it). We were disappointed and surprised that on our 1st round of drinks one of the beers was warm, then we ordered white wine with our platter, the wine was served in an ice bucket. When we felt the bottle it was warm. I told the waiter and was simply told "yes that is why I gave you an ice bucket, sorry we don't have any that are cold" He was not rude, but just said it as if that was standard bar service.

I ordered a beer after the meal and this was warm. Whilst I do intend to go back as I like the atmosphere I will be checking the temperatures of our drinks before we pay for them. An offer of a discount would have been nice (call me crazy).

Went here with a group of 35. I found the servings to be small for such a large group and nothing really stood out. Service was also not great. Would maybe try in a smaller group but for larger groups try somewhere else.

Was here on a Saturday night with 3 other friends. Ordered a mixture of food which was all very reasonable quality. Had worse, had better. Service could be better. Only 1 waitress and whilst not rude she was not overly accommodating. We arrived at 7:30pm and were told it was too late for the chef to prepare a sushi platter so keep this in mind. In the end it turned out OK as they could do multiples of other smaller platters.

Was happy that they offered a vegetarian plate even though it was not on the menu. Felafels and both dips were fantastic. Decor could be better.

We eat here once a week. Great service and great food. I highly recommend the sushi platter. My review above was from the 14 Feb 09 and I just have to add another comment. We still come here once a week and still love it. Last night we went to sushi-e in the city and it was a disappointment. Sushi Masa is far better than sushi-e. Camperdown is very lucky to have such a great Japanese restaurant.

My partner and I were expecting big things from Sushi-e. Whilst the food was good, we did not think it was the best sushi in Sydney. (Our local Japanese restaurant is better and significantly cheaper). The stools at the counter were uncomfortable, I would suggest asking for a table when booking. Service was OK.
