We were hoping to have breakfast here but unfortunately:

Time of entry - 10:00am
Time of service - 10:20am (we had to call someone)
Time of food delivery - 10:50am (4 dishes, 5 drinks)
Day/occasion: weekday/breakfast

The saving grace was the food, it was creative and tasted good. However, the slow service and the slightly over-extracted coffee may detract future customers.

I wonder if it is illegal to impose a minimum charge but not have it mentioned on the shopfront nor menu? So for those who plan to visit, there is a $15 minimum charge. The BBQ and hotpot dishes are fantastic. The kimchi was rather disappointing and they seemed a little stingy in giving them out. Next to us was a table of 2 sharing a serve of kimchi, but we were 8 and we ponder why were limited to 2 serves. We also ponder why pasta has been introduced as a kimchi item. Anyway, BBQ hotplates and hotpots remain our favourites as well as their jap chae noodles.

Good value for money for great Malaysian food. The service could improve, however.

The chirashi is a must try here, fantastic fresh seafood to soft rice ratio.
Bookings are essential in this popular restaurant, particularly on weekends.

It's still a wonder how we managed to get a seating on a Friday night! This neat little restaurant hidden in an arcade offers a great variety of sushi and sashimi. The hostess did seem like a one-person band as she handled orders, served food, cleaned up and greeted customers without pause. An additional waitstaff would be handy.

The sunken dining makes this a good place to relax and enjoy a meal with family or friends. The downside to this was that you could be out of view from the waitstaff. Our dining experience was on a Monday afternoon, and because there were only 2 or 3 other tables, the service was great. The true test would come when it's busy.

Large bowls of pho. Yes, their helpings are extraordinarily generous, however, their soup base could have a little more flavour. On weekends they can get rather overburdened by the crowd so you may find yourself having to order drinks more than once.

Over here, you order first then you wait at a table until the food is brought out. The wall behind the counter is adorned with a large menu-matrix that would have your brain furiously decoding until it finally clicks: choose a row (type of meat/veggie dish) then choose a column (varies in size of set). [I hope I got the row/column part right.]

Their set menus are reasonably priced and my personal favourite: unagi.

One of the things you would notice at first glance was their menu system. Large catalogue-style menus were easy to comprehend making it easy to order. The highly modern styling of the dining area with its multi-level layout made it a slight challenge to get a waiter's attention.

The waitstaff could have done more to create a less impersonal atmosphere, however, they executed their job expediently and we did not have to wait long before the food (generous in size and fantastic in appearance and taste) arrived.

The tables were rather squished. The food was delicious, however, the waiting time for it to arrive was rather long. I recommend going in a large group so the social aspect of the dinner can help fill the time, and spread out the cost too.
