Zinc is a great location with very nice food. I have dined here frequently since I lived in Rockwall, the building above Zinc.
Recently I dined at Zinc and looked at my bill after the fact and noticed their prices added GST, in other words a glass of wine on the menu for $10.50 rings up as $11.55. Is this a new game around town? Another trick I've seen recently (not at Zinc) is to throw an extra dessert or entree onto the bill in the hope you don't notice. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth, eh?

Sailors Thai is a good restaurant. The food is not quite as good as Spice I am in Darlo, in my opinion, but it is definitely worth a visit. Staff are accommodating and the place is attractive.

I can't say Spice I am is good value but you can say the food, ambience and service are first rate. I still wish they'd stuck with their Surry Hills format for Darlo - i.e., the real pan clanging street food and service. It seems if a restaurant exists in Darlo these days it has to chase the expensive bar clientele. I'll keep going once in a while - that is when I can get a proper table and chair and not the stool and cocktail table.

I haven't been to Fishface for a couple of years mainly because I thought it was too expensive for what you were getting. I went back because the place keeps getting good press, honestly, it really is a scam! Mini portions, almost non-existent service and nonsense prices. $35 for so-so, small fish and chips! $42 for tiny piece of snapper with one carrot and one potato.
There are so many restaurants, and even pubs, around that provide much better ambience and value. It is definitely "the king with no clothes" story playing out here with people who rate this place so highly. Sorry Fishface, it'll be many years before I bother again.

I must have reviewed The Dudley at some time because I've been coming here for years, mainly in winter because of one of the best open fires in town.
But alas, the food has gone to the dogs. Last time I had a hamburger that was inedible. The waitress took my plate and said nothing about the three-quarters uneaten meat, didn't care I'm sure. At a couple of minutes past three while we were still eating the waitress started clearing our table. Flowers, condiments etc. without asking if we were finished. I wish she'd taken my burger away because I felt awful after, even though I only ate a quarter of it. My wife had the lamb's fry which was paper-thin, rubbery and tasteless.
Sorry Dudley, I love your fire and old english feel but we can't come back until the eatability reviews tell me things have improved.

Trovata operates through the afternoon and evening which makes it a great place for dining during "non=normal" hours. The food and service are good. Please note that of the 22 previous reviews 11 were first (only) time reviewers giving extremely high praise. Be suspicious when this happens!!!
Response from Management:
Thank you for the feed back, and you’re correct there are many one time reviews, but I do hope your experience at the restaurant was pleasant.

Not sure why I haven't got around to saying something about the Sheaf before. We go there all the time (for lunch) and the food and atmosphere never disappoint. The chef deserves a Good Food Guide hat. Since the kitchen fire they've been struggling along with a limited menu but everything they do is good. It's a pay up front and take a number affair but after that the service people are great... especially Cassie.

Not sure why there are two listings for the Nelson but here's my opinion. Great value and nice surrounding for a pub setting. Will definitely go back, especially in winter with the log fire and sunny atrium courtyard.

Took the advice of the 14 january reviewer and went for the steak at the Nelson. Great value and nice surrounding for a pub setting. Will definitely go back, especially in winter with the log fire and sunny atrium courtyard.

I've only ever dined at Sea Treasure for yum cha... and many, many times. It is consistently good. Great dumplings. This place really buzzes.
