3 Below Average

Food  3      Ambience  3      Service  3      Value  3

My experience at Habayib stands out as one of the most lacklustre and unimpressive for some time. The food was incredibly bland, average, uninteresting. The plates were far too large for the tables, leaving no room for glassware etc. There was an endless train of staff/customers(???) from somewhere out the back streaming past our table to smoke out the front, wafting reeking clouds of smoke back into the restaurant.

The lone waiter was drinking at a table with what appeared to be friends of his, making it impossible to catch his attention to take a drinks order. If all this wasn't bad enough, turn to the food, while the prices are low, the food is far from worth the money. My companion and I opted for the banquet, wanting to sample a broad cross-section of what this place had to offer. We quickly realised what a mistake we had made and what an unfortunate ordeal lay before us.

I observed other tables and noticed a great deal of food remained uneaten and I am not surprised some meat dishes were almost completely raw and what was cooked had no flavour. I don't know who has invested in this place, but they might want to enlist the help of Gordon Ramsay to redress this nightmare, or lose a lot of money.
