Took a lot longer to deliver than they advised. Food was okay, nothing special. Won't rush back.

Went here at lunch time for a work function the other day. Service was friendly and attentive, even if the food service was a little slow.
First impressions were very poor as the two things we wanted most on the menu (haloumi and zucchini flowers) we were told were unavailable. I mean, who has ever heard of a middle eastern restaurant with no haloumi?
The breads and dips were very nice, along with the fried cauliflower and the beef shish kebab. The spicy lamb boreks were amazing - one of the best things I have ever tasted, a definite must try. Unfortunately the soft shell crab was battered and deep fried with a batter so thick it was all you could taste, and the felafels were so over cooked they were like rocks on the plate.
I would go back to this restaurant to try some of the other items on the menu, but I really hope that they have picked up their game by then as I probably would have sent some of the items back if I was paying for them out of my own pocket. For the price, you expect quality & well cooked food.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely experience at this restaurant. We shared chicken satay skewers and salt and pepper squid for entree, however, unfortunately, the squid was so tough we could not eat it. The staff happily replaced it with some spring rolls immediately and those were divine. Light and crispy without a trace of oil. Delish. We had the Crying Tiger special and chilli and basil chicken for mains and both were cooked well and delicious, along with the saffron rice.
The staff were also very friendly and accommodating, even apologising for the mistake with the first entree when we were leaving. All in all this is a lovely little restaurant with beautiful decor and ambience and quite a cheap night out at only $60 for the two of us. We will definitely return as there were so many things that looked good on the menu I want to try!

My boyfriend and I ate here last night and absolutely loved our entrees. The dumplings were great, the lamb cutlets were divine and so tender, and the lentil pancake was quite nice too. The mains were nice, however, unfortunately, a little bland. We had the cashew beef which was good and the palak paneer which, unfortunately, did not have much flavour at all. There isn't much ambience to this place, however, its great for a cheap night out as the value for money is excellent, three entrees, two mains and garlic naan for $65.
While the staff were friendly and happy, unfortunately, they were not overly attentive and we ended up opening our own bottle of wine and beers and amusing ourself until they eventually came back. They did, however, do a great job obliging when we asked for a little time between our entrees and mains. All in all Gorkha Palace was a great place for an inexpensive night out and we will eat here again and try some more of their menu.

Had food delivered from this restaurant last night and was not disappointed. Although their chicken and cashew nut was a little bland and missing that usual sweetness in the sauce, the soft shell crab was delicious (although probably a better meal to order at the restaurant as the batter was a little soggy by the time it was delivered) and the lamb panang curry was to die for! The meat was so tender and the curry so creamy, yum! There are so many things that sound good on the menu for this restaurant, I will definitely be back.

Good local chinese restaurant. Our entrees of fried dim sums and fried prawn cutlets looked like they had been in the deep fryer about 5 minutess too long though and weren't very nice. However, the fried rice was good and the honey chicken (the chicken itself, the sauce is separate and is good, but not great) was absolutely Divine. Cooked to perfection. Yum! Will definitely eat here again.

My husband and I dined here last night for our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing and actually listened to us when we asked for a 20 minutes break between two of our 5 courses! We often ask for this in order to give us time to relax and enjoy our meal, however, some restaurants just can't seem to manage it.
The degustation menu was superb and I have to agree with a few reviewers here, the soft shell crab taco is one of the best things on there. I also had the cod which I really enjoyed and my husband had the beef tenderloin which he said was cooked beautifully. The beef tatake was also fantastic. Excellent value at $49pp also.
We both left with our appetites satisfied, while not feeling completely bloated like we'd eaten too much and overall dining at Waqu was a great experience! Will definitely be back.

I have only tried the Pad Thai here but I was extremely disappointed. It lacked any real flavour and therefore I ended up loading it with lemon juice and salt. The other thing that disappointed me was the service and I was only buying takeaway! When I went in I was completely ignored, even though four separate people saw me arrive and one actually walked past me twice!
Eventually I had to ask to be served. Very disappointing, especially when I was really excited to try a new Thai place in my area, however, now I think I will just stick to the place around the corner.

Great place for brekkie on the weekend. I had the Italian scrambled eggs and they were so good. Had to remind staff on a few things they forgot with our order but they were friendly and helpful so all was okay. Good coffee too and view out to the ocean. I will be back.

Went to Wockbar at their new upstairs location on the weekend with a group of 15 and was not disappointed. Although I have to admit that I was a little bit worried when I called up to make a reservation as there was quite a language barrier and I wasn't sure that my requirements had been understood.
In the end it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We had the Thai banquet menu and had more food than we knew what to do with. The staff were also very friendly and told us that if anyone was still hungry that they would bring out more food.
We had to flag the waiters down to get drinks but that was okay because even though the restaurant was completely full and they were buzzing around from table to table they always brought the drinks promptly when we asked. All in all it was a great night and I will definitely be going back soon!
