We have eaten here 3 times now and alway enjoy the food. The service is very friendly and has an interesting and different balance of hip, happy and professional.

Atmosphere has a trendy feel to it. Prices are a little pricey but much better than the prices you enounter in the other restaurants in ivy.

What a surprise. I like my indian food but the food here is simply fantastic. There is more of a UK type influence here as there are dishes here you would not normally find in an indian restaurant.

I had the lamb shanks, I can't stop thinking about how the meat just fell off the bone. And the chicken tikka was so tender! Even the naan was amazing. We had a nice table on the balcony overlooking the water. Great spot. Atmosphere was let down a little by the cheap feeling tables and chairs. Service was okay, with the waiters appearing to be students that were trying hard. Will definitely go back though, for the food.
If the decor is updated and the service improved, this could be a truly great restaurant.

This is a great place to try for the different type of smaller dishes on offer.
Indoor area is great for groups of 2-4 but can be a little hard to hear when the place is full. Service was very good. Prices, perhaps, a little high, however, I will go back again.

We had a table with an amazing view that really made our night. Service was impeccable. The snow egg was amazing! The rest of the meal was great but very expensive. Happy to pay the extra buck for the view and service.

We regularly go to Nicks mainly for consistency. We know we will get a nice meal - not amazing, but we haven't been disappointed either. The location of course is a big drawcard. Ambience can be quite different depending on where you are seated. On the times that we have been seated near the water, the atmosphere is fantastic. When seated 4 or 5 tables back, there is a lot more people passing by you and it is not as relaxed, probably due to the size of this place.

The pie is always nice but I can help but think its a lesser effort than Glebe's Boathouse Restaurant's legendary snapper pie.

A non typical location on the princes highway and easily missed on the drive through the shire. I can't help but think this place would get a lot more business if in a different location.

Worth giving a try for the variety of oysters alone. Reasonable selection of modern australian available also. The duck was a little more salty than I am used to but enjoyable all the same. Friendly and attentive service. We will probably go back with friends that we know like oysters.

Kalevu's Chris is doing a great job (together with his neighbour Seven Lanterns) in raising the bar for food in the shire.

The food is presented very well and the ever changing menu keeps us coming back every 1 or 2 weeks. The staff are very friendly too. This restaurant would easily compete with many in the city and come out streets ahead.

The owner David makes this place what it is. He is incredibly friendly, he regularly does the rounds on the tables, and is the reason people keep coming back.

The wait staff can be a little slow and nervous, but they are improving. The food is amazing and David is obsessed with making sure it is cooked and presently excellently. My favourite is the beef hot pot, simply amazing. The shire is not renowned for good places to eat, 7 lanterns is changing this.

The upper level is fantastic for functions, or for a more casual dinner on the lounges, particularly if you choose the tasting menu.

I could ask for a raise with a review like this, roosterintheshire! Shame I own the restaurant. Perhaps I should ask CBA...who owns me! Thanks roosterintheshire.

We are regulars at this place as it is consistently good value and quality. Make sure you sit outside as inside can be quite noisey. Service is sometimes patchy and the coloured bowls are a little cheap looking. Overall, it is a good place to catch up with friends or with your partner. My favourite is the sassy duck.
