We had the $19 lunch special which was a plate of 3 tapas or tasters of carrot soup, chorizo (2 pieces) and some cauliflower puree with dried ham. Main of paella contained 2 mussels (unfortunately, one shell was empty on mine) 2 prawns and some tiny calamari. Also included is a glass of sangria or soft drink. While not a huge meal it was reasonable value. Best thing was the soup. Next time I would choose from the a la carte menu.

Nice cafe for a simple weekend lunch, ready made sandwiches (focaccia type) and quiches available. Main attraction is range of individual cakes and pastries. We each had a sandwich (mediterranean veg and tuna Nicoise) all fine and followed up by a very rich decadent chocolate ganache covered cake-far too rich for my tastes and it defeated my chocoholic daughter as well!

Jai Ho is a worthwhile replacement for Magic Curries. Of the two Indian restaurants next door to each other in Turramurra I think this one is superior. Dining in, the service was very good, the servings big for an Indian restaurant and all up very enjoyable. Also very good for vegetarians which we are always looking for.

A lovely spot for lunch on a sunny day either on the footpath or inside. This is the place on the corner right across from the jetty-looks like a general store. A chilled jug of sangria and some nice dishes-some Spanish influenced some not (Eg fish and chips, vegie burger). We loved our lunch here and Hardys Bay/Killcare is such a beautiful spot-I think I might move there.

We ate the bar and shared the antipasti and a "frittata." Other than for the fact a very good French omelette was called a frittata it was all very good and a great choice for a quick bite before heading over to the theatre at the Wharf directly opposite.

Can't believe no-one has reviewed this place yet. We eagerly awaited its opening at the end of 2010 because their previous restaurant in Roseville was a bit of a North shore favourite with very broad menu of fairly simple dishes at a reasonable prices. It is unfortunate that with the move to Wahroonga that the menu and the prices have gone upmarket. We were expecting the old Reel and it is something quite different.

The food, unfortunately, did not live up to prices charged and while it is great to have another restaurant in Wahroonga I really hope that they work out what they are and do something achievable well rather than overreach and fail. There are a couple of excellent foodie upmarket restaurants nearby -The Cooks Garden in Turramurra (my fave) and Ad Lib at Pymble. (and we are all capable of travelling further for an occasion meal).

We have a great family italian place at LaZana in East Wahroonga and a lot of cafes and Thai joints. It would be nice to have Reel fill the obvious gap for an informal restaurant, maybe with a wine bar type of option. Hopefully they will be a success but they need to think about their market a bit more. I wish them well.

My first experience of Rockpool and maybe my last unless someone else pays! Please do not rely on the smh review on this page-this is a serious 2 hat (pricey) formal restaurant and not in any way casual anymore. You have a choice of a 4 course or and 8 course degustation. We chose the 4 course which at $145 per head is not to taken lightly!

There is no a la carte option. You have a choice within each course (including a vego option). Most choices are seafood except for the 3rd course which includes lamb, beef and chicken. The food is different, textural and highly technical and I enjoyed it. Included is a green salad, an appetiser and chocolates. I wished I had selected the souffle which looked fabulous rather than the date tart which was a bit of a letdown after the amazing previous courses.

The restaurant is a bit weird with a carpeted ramp running down the middle which must make it a bit hard if they ever want to do a function (I suppose they don't). The staff are very professional but with that thing of interrupting your conversation to tell you what the dish is, not sure why they do this since we selected what we wanted from the menu it is no mystery what they are putting in front of us. Other than the price it is really difficult to find fault.

Nice find for a Sunday lunch. Food was surprisingly good. Playground for those with kids but big enough to get away from them. Pleasant surrounds.

We had a sunday brunch here. I booked online and they give you a 2 hour slot. This is enough as we found the service to be very fast. If anything a bit too eager to get the order and get us out for the next sitting. Other than that slightly overbearing attitude (which I prefer to the 90 minute wait I had last time I went for breakfast somewhere-not here) everything else was great.

Everyone loved their choices. Some different twists on the usual breakfast fare, perfect poached eggs, good coffee and a nice outlook. You get to watch cyclists and ferries go by. On sunday afternoons there is a concert on a stage close by. Soundcheck was happening when we left. Some might like this or not-depends on the music I suppose!

We had not been here for years. I was surprised to find there were plenty of parking spaces when this never used to be the case. Yes obvious warning! We were there for breakfast. We waited 1 1/2 hours (90 minutes) from order to receiving food, the usual eggs etc. This was after I chased up 3 different waiters. Absolutely hopeless service. They took 1/3 off the bill-big deal. Don't bother.
