Rocked up here randomly on a Friday night around 6:30. We were given a table outside and told that blankets were available if we got cold but it was quite lovely and snug even on a winter's night. Service was great, they brought out water straight away and beers soon after.
We had the corn on the cob (a Must try, so delicious), chicken wings, beef chimichangas, pork quesadillas, prawn tacos (my other favourite), beef tacos and a bowl of freshly made corn-chips with guacamole. $130 all up. We were all completely full, satisfied and happy! The food here is absolutely delicious.
If you're on the beaches, give it a try.

Ugh, just dreadful. Had breakfast with two of my friends. They didn't offer us the pastry menu, only the overpriced one. My friend asked if they had banana bread. The waitress curtly said yes - and later brought out some weird nut bread. My friend said 'this isn't banana bread' and the waitress said 'yes it is, it has banana in it.' Oh dear. At least they took it away and didn't charge us for it.
The drinks were ridiculously expensive. I had a croque madame with a cold gelatinous fried egg on top. Service was awful. Never willfully going here again.

Sapporo was a wonderful serendipity for my friend and I. Coming back to the north shore somewhat late after the theatre, we found most places closed or unappealingly empty. We took a chance on Sapporo, and I am so glad we did.
We had delicious miso, prawn gyoza (with heavenly vinegar and soy dipping sauce) and shared the wagyu for 2 (I'm not sure what it is actually called but there is a big picture of it on the front of the menu). It was incredible. Excuse my ignorance, I will describe the dish rather than name it: they bring out a big steaming bowl of some sort of sauce/marinade on a burner along with a big plate of thinly sliced wagyu and a bowl of vegetables and noodles. You cook them yourself on the table. The taste is Incredible. The wagyu was so tender, needed only 20 seconds in the sauce and it was perfect.
The waitress was quite vague but the food overshadowed it all. We did have to ask her how to use the beef apparatus and she seemed a bit annoyed by this.

Went here for breakfast with my friend. It started well, the lady asked if we wanted to order the drinks before we started thinking about food. This is pretty standard but I always appreciate it. The chai lattes were good.
But then we looked at the menu and everything was so expensive. I only bought a $20 note with me, so I had a moment of mild panic. Then my friend suggested we order the rustic breakfast and share it. On the upside, the staff had no problems with this. But then, the breakfast....! My poached egg was totally flavourless (don't know how this is possible) and tasted of vinegar so obviously it wasn't fresh. The mushrooms somehow tasted like soap. The toast was a bit soggy. Bacon was great, but the sausage wasn't quite cooked through which I don't like.
They also didn't provide any table water and it was not possible to get their attention. We were so thirsty! So not a particularly good experience, could use an interior designer too. Water views are beautiful though.

I love The Cook's Larder. For a few months I ate breakfast here every Sunday. Everything on the breakfast menu is great, portions are great (if not a little too big, and since they are so yummy... get eaten regardless!).
What I love about The Cook's Larder is their obvious passion for food. They run a cooking school, prepare take home meals and have a deli with incredible produce, not to mention fresh flowers! Their breakfast menu has all the classics plus some creative options, but everything somehow tastes way better here!
Probably the quality of the ingredients (fresh free range eggs). I love the creamy scrambled eggs, rich hot chocolate, chocolate fudge sundae, ham and cheese omelette and the Perfect poached eggs.

I've eaten here many times and it is easily one of my favourite places. Every single thing is so delicious! Pork belly! Garlic prawns! Lamb skewers! Those cheese and spinach puff thingys! Churros! Everything!
Service is pretty good, friendly and timely, prices on the expensive side (but worth it for a special occasion), ambience is great as is the decor. Every one should try Different Drummer at least once!

A Glebe institution to be sure, you'll see the creative types chain smoking outside, dressed as beat poets, scribbling furiously in their notebooks. But there are all sorts here, I've never found the staff rude or grungy. Friendly, efficient service.
Badde Manors is cosy, vego comfort food. Sometimes a little bland, but generally on the money. I especially like the bagels. Chai is good, desserts are wonderful. Try the tiramisu!

I've been here three times (which must indicate something!) and have had mixed experiences. The first time I thought I was in paradise, a ramen bar in a bookstore?! Bliss! The first time I had some Murakami ramen (incidentally my favourite author) and pork and fennel gyoza with some organic soft drinks (I think the brand is Phoenix). It was delicious and hot, quick service and excellent price.
The second time was much the same. Came in a group of four for dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. The decor is wonderful!
The third time I went for lunch with a uni friend and I was pretty disappointed. I had the Murakami again, but my 'hot spring egg' (poached egg) was cold, and I mean Stone Cold. The pork on top was also cold, and the pulled pork tasted so strongly of aniseed I nearly gagged. I was so sad because I really wanted my ramen fix! Once I pushed the egg and pork under the almost boiling broth, it improved their temperature and flavour, so it wasn't Too bad.
But I would expect a place like this to poach their eggs fresh, to order.

I love dropping in during uni breaks with friends. The food is such good value and so delicious! It does attract a pretty trendy crowd, but if that doesn't bother you, I highly recommend it.
I like to order the homemade baked beans with poached eggs and herb bread. For $10 - and sometimes I can't finish it. The chai here is also excellent. The waiters can be a tiny bit vague, but who cares?

This place is my idea of heaven. Yes, sometimes you have to wait, but that is because it is worth the wait! A tiny little place with paper pinned all over the walls with swirling Japanese script advertising the menu + extras. The service is prompt and friendly. The food comes out in minutes.
The karai ramen is a dream. Rich, filling and delicious. I can't say enough about this place. Love, love, love!
