This is a great, large scale high volume pho place - big raw beef pho with extra noodles for $14. The beef is better than most pho places, the broth is nice and not over sweet but nor is it as good as I've had in Cabra. Comfort, aircon, cleanliness, speed and easy parking parking together with competent food make this our 'go to' place for pho.

We get to some funny places in our search for food, the Austrian Club among them. We really like the community vibe there, the gruff waitresses and friendly old chaps behind the bar. Noisy and kid friendly, all the Austrian kids took a liking to the piglet and played with her all night which was nice.

The schnitzel is the go but there are various other specialties too. Try the 'hot love' for dessert, the waitress has all too much amusement in saying 'here is your hot love' it's a bit funny and scary at the same time! If you want a mix of local club and a trip to middle Europe, check this out.

I've tried a few different items from R&B's takeaway - Lamb burger, garlic burger (!), pork ribs, Korean ribs - all were good, but the lamb burger is awesome! You have to try it! Chips are superior to most, the slaw with pine nuts is subtle and nice and the butchers salad is fine. The onion rings don't survive take away too well.

Service is efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant. From a couple of accents I heard, I'm guessing the BBQ skills come via South Africa rather than America - like hurricanes I think also Kelly's. Ambience is pleasant, casual and grown up with concrete floors etc. Did I mention the Lamb Burger is really good with a real old fashioned BBQ taste!?

Recently I had a perfectly done lamb shashlik that was a 10/10 - the memory of it is keeping me a loyal customer even though I haven't had one quite so perfect since then. The salads, bread and dips are fresh and good. We go there usually at lunchtime and often have the whole place to ourselves which is great! (unless it's footy season and Swans fans are congregating there).

This is one of my favorite ever places, I think the Honkie food there is the best in Sydney. Lai cha is good even by HK standards. My other personal favorite is the corned beef and egg sandwich. All the usual honkie food and Cantonese specialities are available and all good. the location is interesting, down a somewhat dingy basement past the Chinese butcher but it gets the 'feels like home' tick from its mostly HK patrons.

Went there for a long Saturday lunch with the piglets, mrs p and parent porkers. The food was outstanding and even a bit different (we had the pigs trotters which were great). Good wine list that Poppy Pig asked the waiter to suggest from and came back with some interesting choices - the Italian waiter had a good knowledge of the various regional styles (eg Primitivo, etc.). He also chatted up my 3 yo piglette which was cute. Ended up being pricey due to some extravagant choices, but keen to return. It's probably just a bit better than Ventuno, Sopra, etc.

Excellent choice on a Friday night to take 2 little kids. The mall type setting means it is child friendly and the service was friendly and attentive. We shared the grappa tempura cheese balls which were delicious and served on lovely radicchio slaw, then had the veal & pork raviolis with sage & burnt butter, penne with sardines, child's tomato penne, all very nice, pasta al dente, served hot and with saltiness nicely balanced. Ordered a mixed leaf salad which was a generous size and seasoned Italian style yummy but with lots of salt. Finished with a Zuppa Inglese which was beautifully presented, a good enough size to share - a bit old school but fine by us. Just had Campari & orange to drink, but the tap water was filtered. Only alarming thing was that it didn't seem busy, especially as it is in the same class as the Sopras, La Rosa & Ventuno and very good value, so please support this place I'd like to keep going there!

My tactic for managing the discomfort of small tables, crowded and hurried situation, etc. is to go at lunch times when there are few other diners, e.g. Thurs or Saturday, Sunday. A few times the staff were even friendly to Miss Piglet! I haven't been for a couple of months but hope the food is still at the same unbeatable standard for pad thai, salads, meats, etc.

It is a step above the usual suburban thai, but was expecting something more, maybe a more interesting menu with some challenging tastes. Not overly expensive, not cheap. Main feature is that it's in Ivy which could be a plus or a minus, depending on your mood! I'd prefer to check out somewhere else on Wentworth Av for yummier food.

Took Mrs P to G at B for a bit of a splurge dinner after seeing French Food Safari and felt motivated to revisit. The booking process was pain free and we were seated at a front row table with a great view. Amazingly good celeriac entree followed by sous vide cooked steak with micro flowers etc for main then a choc-bomb dessert.

Mrs P had wonderful basil tuna roll thing for entree and a more palatable dessert. Sides were delicious. Although people should definitely take responsibility for their own eating. I found that the three dishes I had were really over the top on richness and taken together were just too much. The chocolate/orange dessert I had was good, even generous, especially with all the valhrona choc in it!, but so dense with chocolate that it was almost inedible. I'd recommend a visit but take care when ordering!
