Visited Dubbo over New Years and was really happy to have found Two Doors to have dinner at.
I went with my partner, the entrance to the entrance is quite nice with two brick arches and vines/flowers hanging off it. As you enter, you proceed towards the back of the restaurant where the outdoor tables are located, the ambience was lovely being a warm summers night (combined with live music and sangria, can't go wrong).
As it was only my partner and I, they allowed us to have "half portions" for the dishes (as they are generally for four), which was excellent as we got to try everything that we wanted on the menu. I particularly loved the potato skins and chorizo croquettes, my partner also really liked the chorizo with figs.
Service was really lovely, only thing was that we thought they served us our dishes abit too quickly, this meant that by the time I got to my crispy pork belly, it was a little chewy. However, it was a busy night for them and would rather my food being served too fast than too slow.
I would without hesitation recommend this place to my friends.

We had a really positive experience visiting Selah for pre-theatre dinner. As noted by previous reviewers, the decor of the restaurant is abit bistro like, but it has some pretty funky lights so can't complain about the ambience. It also got quite busy at about 8 pm, with other couples and a few smallish groups of 4-6, so a cosy atmosphere.
I had the roast lamb which I really really enjoyed. The lamb was cooked a perfect medium rare on a pea puree that went really well with the lamb (really smooth texture). It also came with peas on the side, and I think some cous cous salad which also went really well with the lamb.
The dish also came with a fried zucchini flower stuffed with goats cheese. I'm a big fan of goats cheese, so I found it to be very tasty. We didn't stay for dessert, which was a shame because the ones listed sounded yummy. We used our entertainment card, so it turned out to be a really good value dinner.

Visited Savoy for a nice very simple dinner. I had the salmon pasta which was really nice. We did wait a while for the food to come out, but admittedly it was a busy night when we visited. It is a really good value place for food and would recommend it for families or anyone who doesn't want anything fancy.

Visited here over the Easter long weekend with my partner and really enjoyed our dinner. The overall ambience is really warm and homey which was is really lovely on a cold blue mountain night. Food reflects the cottages overall ambience, warm and homey. Had the french onion soup which was nice (but abit salty) and really liked the bacon rosti (was very crispy).
Also tried their mulled wine and would recommend this. Would have liked to try their desserts, but we was too stuffed. Would visit here again to try their cheese fondu, surrounding tables had it and it smelt mouth watering.

Visited Est last month for my partners birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service was professional and friendly and waiters were very helpful in recommending wines, a lovely French white. We both had the degustation and loved it. The second dish to the degustation was my absolute favourite, cooked to perfection sauce went perfectly with it (lobster claw, moreton bay bug, scampi).
My suggestion to anyone else wanting to try the degustation would be to choose the passion fruit souffle as the dessert, my partner chose this one and it was mouth watering! I would visit again and recommend it to friends.

Visited this restaurant on a Friday night with a group of friends. Food was lovely, I had lamb cutlets which was cooked perfectly to a medium rare (as requested). Friends had the mussels, they came in a very large portion and were delicious!
The service was warm and friendly, however, the only fault I could find was that the waiters would try to take away our food when we hadn't finished (they did not firstly ask either). Nevertheless, would still visit again and will order the mussels next time.

While the quality of the degustation menu was ok (one or two dishes were good including the rainbow trout and the pecan gelato), I will never be returning to this restaurant due to its service (or lack thereof!).
Management at Foveaux need to seriously look at the quality of service provided by its wait staff. We had made a booking for a relatively big group and the bad service started from the very start of the night. A few friends were running late and we asked for some bread while we waited (some three times, even advised them that one of the girls was pregnant and that we were willing to pay for it), but our requests were declined, it was only to be served when everyone had arrived. Level of service for the rest of the night was pretty much of the same level.
No matter what dish placed in front of me, the quality of the service just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I at first thought that, perhaps, it was because we were in a big group, however, having read the other reviews, it just seems as though the level of service has dramatically dropped since November 2009.
While it was a relatively good price for a 6 course degustation and the overall decor provided a nice ambience to the restaurant, call me old fashioned, but I also value some moderate levels of service (especially front a “One Hat” restaurant). I definitely won’t be recommending Foveaux to anyone, especially not to groups. There are plenty of other restaurants in Sydney who give the impression of actually wanting to provide you with some service.
Response from Management:
I don't normally feel the need to respond to comments on this website however in this instance I need to address these particular clients misleading allegations.
The party in question had a reservation for 7pm in which 3 of the 10 people booked arrived on time. A request for food from our Bar Menu (not bread as stated) was requested by the 3 people who had been waiting over an hour for the rest of their party where there was still no indication on what time they would actually arrive. The wait staff advised that with other patrons in the restaurant dining we were happy to set them up with a table in the bar and serve them some items from our Bar Menu until the rest of their party arrived. It was the clients that declined our hospitality.
The rest of the party arrived 1hr late for their reservation.
We take care in arranging reservations for the restaurant in a manner that allows a consistent arrival of tables throughout the night. This ensures that clients will be able to have a high quality of service and meals. We seat 45 people in the restaurant with most people having the 6 course tasting menu thus over 240 plates of food is coming out of the kitchen together with matching wine which the waiters take time to explain the complexities of the dish and the reasons for the pairing with the wine. On this particular Saturday night when the restaurant was fully booked the party in question filled a quarter of our restaurant and hence their booking of 7pm was the basis of what time other tables were booked. It is unavoidable at times that people will be late for their reservation however this party must take into consideration that by being 1hr 15min late they had arrived at the same time as our smaller tables who were arriving on time.
While the same professional service was given to this party as well as the rest of the diners I would have to ask if this client’s night was already ruined due to the lateness of their fellow diners and therefore 'leaving a bad taste in the mouth'. This party also brought a cake along only to be told that food was not allowed to be brought into the restaurant. If they had taken the courtesy of ringing to ask if food could be brought into a restaurant they would have been advised that due to health and hygiene reason we do not allow it.

An ok place for breakfast at Port Macquarie, do be prepared for slow service from wait staff however. Pancakes were nice, but decor is abit strange! There are birds everywhere, it freaked me out a little.

Visited the restaurant over the Christmas and New Years break and was not disappointed! We stayed at the Observatory Hotel and the restaurant is only a few minutes walk away.
Had the Roasted Duck Breast which was divine and there is also a good selection of wine. Although the dishes were slightly pricey, it was well worth it. With the ocean just across the street, the ambience really made it a perfect dinner.

Had dinner here on Saturday night, beautiful ambience and decent view of Cockle Bay. Service is terrific and waiters are very attentive. Food can be pricey, however, the steaks range from approx. $30 and up to suit different budgets. I tried the softshell crab, seared scallops and prawns as an entree, beautifully prepared and highly recommended. Nice restaurant for dates or with friends.
