Despite living over half an hour away in Darlinghurst, with plenty of restaurants at our doorstep, we end up here at least once a month.

The food is to die for, perfectly cooked chicken with delicious sides. We tend to start with the garlic bread and bitterballs which are both great. We try to order two different mains so we can share them both, same with the sides as we can never decide between spatzle and sauteed potatoes. They're both too good! If you have room at the end, the cherry and cheese strudel is fabulous, though very filling!
The waitstaff are always very helpful and the atmosphere is a lot of fun.

I love that Taxi Club ends up with a better overall rating than some of Sydney's most well known venues!

Lets be honest, it is 'pub food', though at its best, don't expect something out of this world. The service on the other hand is absolutely flawless, you never have to wait when you ask for something, and never feel like you are being forced to leave after you finish.

There's some members specials at the back of the menu that represent amazing value for money, but most of the menu is very reasonable. Recently for three people we had a seafood platter for two (that was too big to finish and absolutely delicious) plus grilled chicken with mash and veg, complimentary bread for all, and a nice bottle of wine, and it came to under $100. Very happy. You could even get away with a meal under $40 for two if you're drinking soft drink.

I think it's pretty over priced for what it is, honestly. Especially the breakfasts which consist of eggs plus an extra few dollars for every other item you want. The food is decent but not really worth paying that much more for. The chicken special (parmesan crusted, I think?) I had for lunch recently was an absolute mistake. Overcooked but still cold? Huh?

The staff are very hit and miss. Some of them are lovely and others clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed and like to take it out on the customers.

We come here all the time, its one of our favourite breakfast places. We often bring along an extra couple of people to show it off, too, and they're always equally happy.

My favourite dish is the corn fritters, I love the poached eggs, and I recently tried the pumpkin and sage pasta which I also loved. In fact, everything I've tried I've been quite happy with. If there was one thing I'd change, I'd ask for bigger glasses for water, since you have to get up and refill the glass yourself it would be nice to not have to do it so often.

The service is great, especially the young girl (Mary?) who is always so friendly and always remembers us. A breakfast for two usually comes to about $40 which I think is pretty fair for the area.

We got our pizza delivered so I can't say much for the service or the ambience but the guy on the phone and the delivery guy were both pleasant enough.

The 2 pizzas we ordered (one with chicken, sundried tomatoes, camembert, the other with lamb) were delicious. Very well cooked, great ingredients, and plenty of them. We also got a chocolate mousse (a huge serve for the price) and a slice of Mars Bar cheese cake, which was nice but a little too cheesey, thats what made the food score a 9 instead of a 10.

We ordered take away so I can't say much for the ambience, but we did wait around for a while and I didn't think much of it. The man who took our order over the phone seemed very rushed and this could be forgivable if the place was busy but when we turned up to collect it was almost empty.

There were 3 of us, one of whom loved the 2 of the pizzas (we chose 3), the other two of us didn't like any of them. The one that none of us liked had 4 ingredients on a pizza that was cut into 4 slices, one ingredient on each, and not much of it either. Average at best, which is not good enough when it's a stones throw away from excellent pizza.

Four of us visited Longrain for an early Christmas get together and I could not fault their food or service at all. We were seated within about 20 minutes (we passed the time prior with a delicious cocktail) and had a fabulous waitress who was very down to earth and funny, and knew everything about every dish on the menu. We ordered the beetle leaves which were fabulous, and 4 mains which we all shared.

I think my favourite was the salt and pepper cuttlefish, but the duck dish and the tofu were absolutely amazing too. We shared the dessert sample plate and there was not one item on there that I wouldn't have ordered myself. It was all perfect. Yes, its pricey, and yes, you can get good Thai food elsewhere, but Longrain is great for a special occasion.

Wow, I'm surprised at a lot of these reviews! I've come here about 5 or 6 times and always enjoyed the food. The service isn't "with a smile" but that's just the Russian culture and you can't really complain about that!

I love the dumplings (both the meat and the potato ones) as well as the chicken kiev in particular. I've come here mainly as a part of a small group (2 to 4) and the only occasion that I wasn't completely happy was when we were told we couldn't come in with the boys in 3/4 jeans (which is fair enough, really, its just that it was the middle of summer!).

Only ever been here for breakfast, but always loved it! We usually get two dishes and share them so we can try everything, but always make sure to get the scrambled eggs. So fluffy and delicious.

I love Bettys. I mean, you don't go to a soup kitchen expecting Michelin Star cuisine, but what they have is simple and filling. The free (!) bread is so soft and fluffy, and the staff are absolutely charming, especially "Mr Bettys". It's a great place to catch up with friends before heading out on Oxford St.
