I was really surprised to read the previous bad reviews for this place, because my experience was just the opposite. Walking into the room feels like entering another era. The room is fitted out in Victoria era decor, and the lighting dim to really set off the ambience. We were there for high tea on Saturday, and the amount of food you get for your $45 doesn't look like a lot, but is actually really filling. For an extra $10 we got the sparkling rose Chandon option which was so lovely!

The crowd here was mixed, from young singles to hens parties, to mothers groups, to grannies, even a few men (dragged along by their girlfriends no doubt). Service and food were all above expectations.

I booked the Eden room upstairs for a birthday party which was a risk, having never actually been to Trinity before, but was relieved that the space was great for a sit down dinner with friends. Not all of us ate, however, those who did ordered the snapper pie, grilled barramundi and cottage pie. Everyone loved their food (top notch for a pub meal), and the prices were reasonable.

The staff are nothing short of amazing, friendly and accommodating to all of our needs (so rare to find in Sydney, especially on a Friday night). Thank you for a great night!

I came here on a Tuesday night for a few quiet drinks with a friend, we arrived about 6 pm and the place was fairly empty. By the end of the night, it was absolutely chockers! The decor is gorgeous, the vintage outdoor furniture and the fairy lights at night time lend to the romance of the ambience.

For a bar called The Winery I would have expected a better wine list, but with only 4 sauvignon blancs to choose from, I wasn't really that impressed. However, while we were trying to decide on a wine, our waiter brought out two of his suggestions for us to taste, which was a nice touch. The service after that didn't disappoint.

We didn't order mains, however, we saw other mains come to the tables around us and they looked delish. The stuffed mushroom caps, especially, I'd like to try next time. We ordered the cheese plate with grapes and quince paste, reasonably priced at $24 with two wonderful cheeses and a third which was not really to my taste (but was happily eaten anyway).

Our waitress asked if we wanted more lavosh since we had run out, we said yes, and she brought out another plate of lavosh that was twice the size of the original one and way too much for the amount of cheese that we had left. I was a bit disconcerted to find out we were charged $2 for this on our bill. Not that $2 is a big deal, but why charge at all?

With the majority of the wines at over $50 a bottle, I might come back for a special occasion, however, it's not really in my budget to come back often, even though I would like to!

To make a booking at this restaurant, I called twice and sent 3 emails - the phone continues to ring out, and no response to the emails! Why do they make it so hard to book a table? After trying for a week, I finally got a booking for the $15 unlimited ribs. We waited a little while for our table but I didn't mind as you can sit at the bar and have a couple of drinks while you wait. However, once we were sat, they didn't take our order for 30 minutes and then it took another 30 minutes for the food to come out (while we watched other tables sat after us order, and receive their food before us). The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. They also try to fill you up with bread beforehand, with delicious herb butter it's hard to resist! It's a great deal for the money and worth the effort to get there.

I really love the look of this restaurant, the balcony area is really funky with its cushions and clear glamour chairs. Great place for a date, but the tables are just a little close together for my liking. We got there before our booking to take advantage of happy hour for $10 cocktails, I tried 2 of them, and they were amazing. I had a Jump On It voucher for the 5 course tapas including cocktail. While most of it was delicious (the white polenta was a bit bland, but the pork belly more than made up for it), I could imagine someone with a big appetite would have left a bit hungry. The service was top notch, and overall I really enjoyed the experience. I'll definitely be coming back for the cocktails and to try the other things on the menu!

I came here to dine on a Wednesday evening with 4 friends, and I have one word, sensational! When we arrived, we were seated in bar area until our entire party had arrived (however, we were moved to our table before we could order drinks).

The ambience/decor of the place is really well done, it felt like we were in Spain. We could only get a table for the 9 pm sitting, and were disappointed to find out that they had run out of most of the mains (suckling pig and roast lamb), so we decided to go the tapas option and ordered 2 starters each to share, plus bread. It got better from there. Everything was superb, as were the cocktails.

The stand out was the mackerel, and it was good to see some different things on the menu like black pudding and brussel sprouts (which, by the way, I probably wouldn't order again. Better than my mum used to make but I don't think anything can make me like them!). They staggered the plates so that we only had 3 plates on the table at a time, which I liked.

The only thing I have to complain about was that the waiters would often clear the table when there was food left, we had to tell them a couple of times that we weren't done but sometimes they were too quick. Other than that, everything was amazing. The food only came to about $35 each, plus cocktails (min $15 each). I'll be going back again, for sure.

I came here not expecting much after reading the recent reviews, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was the best I've ever had in a yum cha restaurant (maybe it had something to do with the waiters speaking English), and the food is always great. We had the freshest steamed pork buns I've ever had, and the mango pancakes never disappoint. We asked a waiter for a plate of chinese greens and they appeared within a few minutes.

We had a few people at our table who had never had yum cha before so we didn't order anything too adventurous and of course, none of the "authentic" stuff ever came past our table, all of us being non-Chinese! This didn't bother me though, this seems to be a common practice everywhere. The bill came to just over $20 each, which is amazing value. I'll be back!

I come here often in summer for lunch in the sunny courtyard, and on Mondays and Tuesdays it's extra great value with cheap meals. Get here early or else the outside tables are all taken! Every meal I've had here has been great, and drinks are at a reasonable price. No complaints here!!

I came here for dinner with a couple of girlfriends looking for a sushi train. Turns out that they only offer this for lunch but you can order all the items fresh on the menu which is what we did.

The service wasn't terrible as others have said, although I don't think they spoke much English and they did get our wine order wrong. However we let them know and it was fixed up promptly and politely. We ordered sushi to share and the items all came out at different times, some much later than others however as we were sharing this made no real difference. The food was fresh and delicious and we will be making this a weekly visit.

As for the napkins that others have mentioned, we asked for some and they brought out a whole pile of them for us - no wet towels and no charge.

My partner took me here for a romantic dinner for my birthday. It was a Sunday night so getting a seat on the balcony was no trouble (there are only two tables on the small balcony). We chose this place as it's a funky little restaurant, we could sit outside and it's also BYO.

We started with the tasting plate for 2, everything on it was just delicious. I got the lamb for main and he got the duck risotto. His was pretty good but I have to say that the lamb was the best I've ever had. Yep, it's a big call - but I'm going to make it.

The service was great, always topping up our glasses and bringing us olives to snack on while we waited for our entree. I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner, and inside they have booths which would fit 4 or so (any more would be a squish) and tables along the wall where you could fit a big group of friends.
