I come to Urban Bite all the time, the coffee is delicious, the food is great and extremely well priced (e.g. toasted Turkish sandwich ~$10, enormous serve of pancakes $10) and the staff are cheerful and friendly.
Urban bites is exactly what I like in a cafe. I go there for a late sunday breakfast, I bring my family and friends there when they come to visit, I go there with a book to read or study.....Perfect. Oh and the banana-berry smoothies are to die for!

Our favourite restaurant in Newtown! The food is delicious, the service amazing.
The menu is large and diverse which also keeps us coming back! There is also a great vegetarian selection, I don't think they post the vegetarian menu on the window? Our recommendations: the rice paper rolls (so good), the satay chicken, the vegetarian eggplant dish.

Our favourite Thai restaurant in Newtown! Being lazy in the kitchen, my boyfriend and I regularly give in to the temptation of getting takeaway dinner from Atom Thai and the food never disappoints! Creatures of habit, we always get some variation of the green curry, the red curry, the pad thai . . . and they are all so delicious!
And what's more - the staff are so incredibly friendly and provide excellent service. And the meals are prepared in 15 minutes! Ideal for lazy and impatient takeaway types like us.

Contrary to some of the unfavourable reviews below, I enjoyed eating at this restaurant. If you come to Newtown regularly or live nearby, it is a tasty change (from all the Thai!!). Different food, a quaint dining atmosphere and excellent service.
Service: The service was definitely outstanding. Ambience: I liked the layout of the restaurant - it doubles as a shop, selling a lot of Nepalese trinkets and there was nice Nepalese music playing in the background. Some may call it tacky - but I thought it was cute! Food: The food was not amazing - but it was definitely different. If you live in Newtown and dislike Thai . . . it was a welcome change! Aromatic and tasty.
Value: I thought it was fine for value! Others have complained about the value, but I didn't notice that the portion sizes were small at all. Particularly if you have the vegetarian dishes, which (if I remember correctly) were about $10 each.
