Been here a couple of times and had no idea what to order, but everything I've tried has been delicious. Everything is about $7 or $8 and you serve yourself drinks and condiments. Food comes out ridiculously fast. Try the fried meatballs!

This place has awesome value breakfasts that are incredibly tasty. Their poached eggs are divine, as are the corn fritters. Everyone I've taken here has loved it.

I love this place. Usually go for the beef with potato noodles, which is a hotpot you cook yourself. I also love their basic salad, it comes in sections and has nashi pears in it.

Korean beer is $4 a pop, the service is always very attentive and the food is delicious. It would be a great place to have a birthday or event as there's plenty of space.

We came here for Sunday lunch and I was really impressed. It was nice to sit out in the sun (it's a bit drab inside). We ordered home made lemon squash, home made iced coffee with condensed milk, beef salad (from the dinner menu) and the bun with bbq pork. Everything was delicious, fresh and quickly prepared, and the service was excellent. The bill totalled only $29! Will be back for sure.

This place serves the same dishes as virtually all the Portuguese restaurants in the area, variations on steak and chips or seafood and chips which, although perfectly cooked and very much authentic Portuguese home-style food, are generally very overpriced.

At Divino's, the portions are comparatively small, so you will pay $20-$25 for something that seems like upmarket pub fare. The food is really tasty but definitely not good value.

It is also worth noting that while the service is very attentive and friendly, meals take a very long time to prepare. We were waiting quite sometime for our meals at lunch on Saturday and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. I was also kind of surprised that when two of us ordered the same thing (espetada, served with chips and salad), even though we were sitting at opposite ends of the table (of 8 people) they put all our chips on one plate and all our salad in one bowl.

It was bizarre and kind of annoying, we felt like they did it out of laziness or to make it look like there was more food than there actually was.

I have been told that to get a job at Campos, you need to make something like 30 coffees in 15 minutes, all of them perfect. I wouldn't be surprised, as I have never once been served a bad coffee at Campos.

That said, it's not the best coffee in town, and by no means the cheapest. It also isn't the cosiest place to sit, a lot of high stools, serve-your-own cake and not a lot of space.

I go here every so often for a quick drink. The service is fine, the beer is an ok price, and they have a massive courtyard. If you have kids (which I don't) you might appreciate the fact that they are permitted in the courtyard (although there are numerous signs up reminding parents to keep an eye on them).

But I have to say that the food here is ridiculously overpriced and the servings are by no means generous. I would not recommend The Alexandria for a nice meal out by any means, or really any kind of meal. It's pub food at restaurant prices. Take note Alexandria Hotel, a garnish does not make a restaurant meal.

This has been my favourite Newtown breakfast spot for ages, mostly because of their great vego options. Every time I go they have a new special, usually something involving some combination of poached eggs, pesto, avocado, Turkish toast, salsa, aioli, rosemary, or some other yummy thing. They are really creative with their breakfasts, which I think you have to be on King Street as there is so much competition.

They also do great fries, smoothies, and sandwiches, I love their spicy vegetarian burger. They use campos coffee and is made to an ok standard, but is not really their focus. Foodarama is small and cosy, the staff are attentive and service is prompt. This is a great place to go for a quick bite to eat, especially for breakfast.

The 'food' score reflects the quality of the coffee- I didn't try the food.

I don't understand why this place has such a good reputation for coffee. Cute coffee shop, cute espresso machine, cute decor, cute waiters but terrible coffee. I have never had such simultaneously bland and weak coffee in my life - I seriously thought they forgot to run the espresso shot.

My Cappuccino was also fairly flat which is actually pretty standard for Sydney coffee to be honest. Take note- cappuccino is 1/3 espresso, 1/3 froth and 1/3 milk. The only thing I will say is the coffee was hot enough and the froth (what little there was) was the right consistency. Making a good coffee is as easy as making a bad one, because a good coffee ensures repeat business. Mecca will not be getting mine.

This is a good cafe for plain, standard breakfasts and lunches. They use campos coffee here, and make it well. I wouldn't say the food here is particularly creative, but it is good value and service is prompt. I love what they've done with the space, all primary colours and retro furniture. I recommend the Turkish toast with ricotta and roast tomatoes.
