This place is a hidden gem!
Food was excellent and authentic, and most importantly no MSG. My personal favourite is the spicy pork. The crispy pancake and dumplings are must-haves for entree. My friends and I would also share the bulgogi beef, beef ribs, and dolsot bibimbap. Oh ginseng chicken soup is really good too, especially during the cold winter months. Love the fact that they don't charge extra for additional rice and condiments (yes I eat a lot).
Staff and owners are very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Having had yumcha for a number of times at Kam Fook, my friends and I decided to spend our Chinese New Year celebration dinner here. Let's get straight to the point: we discovered a WORM in the fish & vegetable soup that we ordered.
So we called the manager. He was somewhat unapologetic and said that the worm is from the vegetable (as if it's common sense to expect a worm in a vegetable dish!). He said a quick "I'm sorry", fair enough, but when we asked whether we can get a replacement dish for free, he simply said no. In a similar situation, other decent restaurants would have been very apologetic and offer some kind of compensation without us having to ask for it. Other dishes are fairly average and over priced.
If you don't mind paying heaps of money for your 'invested' food and receiving below average service, you won't have any issue having dinner at this restaurant.

Food was a bit of a let down and overpriced. The pork belly skin was chewy, and frankfurter was actually a frankfurt that you can buy from Coles. Service from the male staff on duty was friendly and cheerful, whereas the female staff was quite snappy and seemed like she couldn't wait until the end of her shift. They charge $1.30 card fee for all cards, including Eftpos. I have never been to any other restaurant that charges this fee, and to my knowledge it would only costs them 15 cents. Overall, I wouldn't go back.

Decided at last minute to try Cafe Ish since I was in the area. Bad call. I tried the recommended softshell crab omelette, and it was soggy and bland (apart from the chilli sauce which tastes more like a malaysian/thai sambal). The crab was not crispy at all, miso soup was watery, and the avocado inside omelette didn't taste right. My partner ordered this bacon sauce udon, and it was a real struggle for him to eat the so-called udon. It tasted like raw flour. Definitely not worth the money I paid, and I won't be coming back to this place.

Saturday lunch at Helm Bar turned out to be really good. Four of us shared a seafood platter and a bottle of bubbly for $45 (Jumponit voucher) and 1kg of prawn for $25 (Saturday/Sunday special). Good portion, variety and freshness of seafood. Friendly service too. We'll definitely be back next time!
