We had a mixed experience the other day. Food was ok, not bad but expensive. Some of the salad in our meals didn't taste fresh. Waitresses were friendly but it was apparent that the senior staff was quite rude to his staff which made us feel awkward. The same big guy was even walking into the food serving area (indoors) smoking which is very average. We won't be going back. We felt awkward and felt sorry for the poor waitress.

Went for some food and cocktails. Food was ok and the cocktails nice. However, it was very expensive. It is a nice looking place, however, we encountered unhelpful staff. Better value places in coogee.

We went to the palace for the cheap steak wednesday. It wasn't as empty as it usually is, but by no means packed. Two steaks took over an hour to come out and when they did they were tough and hardly edible. Many better places to eat in coogee.

Had a great experience the other night. We went for the T-bone, salmon schnitzel. All I can say is wow. The food was delicious I cannot believe the price we paid. It was succulent. The decor could do with an update but saying that it is spotlessly clean which is most important. Service was friendly and atmosphere easy going and cheerful. Staff friendly and happy. It is not five star dining, but it is great honest food.
