The food was average flavour. I gave it slightly above average because it is food that is not on many menus in Canberra.

The service, however, was awful. We went on a Saturday at lunch. The three other tables had just finished their meal so we were the only ones in the restaurant. It took ten minutes after we put our menus down for the waitress to take our order, 50 minutes for our entree of plain roti and then another 15 for our main. Would not go again based on the service.

Oh and to top it off, I got the lemon drink and there was a mouldy string in my drink. Made me feel a bit queasy thinking about it.

Food is excellent. A nice tasty alternative to the run of the mill food everywhere else. There are so many varities with the sandwiches, they serve real fruit in their juices, have actual tea, not supermarket rubbish and they give veggies the respect they deserve. I recommend this place to everyone. My carnivore husband loves the burgers and sandwiches.

The food is wonderful, love the muffins, the carrot cake and the days when Joe makes cannoli's. His sandwiches are also very filling and full of quality ingredients. The bacon and egg rolls are not my cup of tea but their coffee is consistently good and better than their competitors. They could improve their hot chocolate though.

We didn't realise you need to order ahead for the peking duck so we instead had peking pancakes, which were very very tasty, shallot cakes, which were tiny and came without any sort of dipping sauce, chilli crispy shredded beef, which I ate way too much of it was so yum, and fried rice which was boring. The service is very average but the food is good enough that I will return.

Their bread, sandwiches, tarts and breakfasts are amazing and some of the best in Canberra, bear in mind this is not Sydney. Their service is appalling, they act like you should feel privileged to be there. If you can get past that the food is worth going for.

Try to avoid Fridays and Saturdays or at least get in at 11 am or earlier to get your lunch food as it does sell out soon after.

The portions were huge, couldn't get through them, the food was very spicy and tasty, finally someone that understands flavour. The service was very good, a pity for them it is in a mall, they should consider moving as the rest of Manuka was very much alive and this place was dead, I think you would have to know it was there to venture inside. Give the sangria a miss, it was thick and cheap tasting. Otherwise bravo!

I had tapas, meatballs and patas bravas. The meatballs were very yummy but they were tiny. For $12 I got 5 the size of a fifty cent piece, I wanted more! The sauce was fresh, the quality of the meat was really good, they were cooked to perfection.

The patatas bravas wasn't that great. They had small crispy potatoes so a tick there but the sauce was more like a burger sauce, my friend who visited on another occasion agrees. They need to do better here. My husband had the rack of lamb and considering he practically sucked the meat off the bones I would say he enjoyed it.

Still on my quest for great peking duck. Had the peking duck pancakes and thought they were very average, nothing special in terms of flavour or quality. I had vegetable san choi bow and my husband had duck san choi bow. Mine was good and my husband also enjoyed his. While they used good fresh ingredients there were no strong tastes or flavours to excite. I will go back for the quality in ingredients but not rush.

My husband and I had Peking duck on Valentines Day. It was so yummy. The place was packed as well and the service was still good. I saw other people wait but not us. Even our desert - banana fritters came quickly. The place is very beautiful as well. I recommend it. Happy eating!

After reading the reviews I knew that the secret to a good dinner was coming on a night when it was not busy. A rainy Friday presented that opportunity and we had a lovely evening.

The service was very good, our waitress very attentive, if a bit too eager as it was clear we wanted a private dinner. The food was good, hot and tasty although it was almost borderline bland which I should have expected considering it is a shi shi and more about presentation and decor than being a foodie's paradise. We would go back and I am sure enjoy it but not for a while.
