Service was great, though only time will tell whether this stays constant (we went in its second day of opening) and the decor was quite rustic with reused industrial materials... but that's where the positives end.

The food we were served we're bad (and I rarely go as far as to call restaurant food 'bad') on two fronts: quality and value.

My prawn pasta (forgot what it was called specifically) was expensive for how little I received and the pasta itself was definitely not cooked al dente and the prawn wasn't divined. This wasn't a one-off, my friend ordered the same dish with the same problems (perhaps there was a novice chef out back, who knows). Regardless, I ate my dish too quickly for my liking - there was not enough!

Would not go again - great service, average food and bad value for money.

Updating my almost three year old review, as things have changed over there!

The food is pleasant and homely as always, don't expect extravagance. Food value (price to proportion ratio) has largely been retained, but some dishes have become smaller in size. You can expect to pay between 20-25 dollars for a very fulfilling meal, so at least in my eyes, this place still gives good value for money (relative to CBD prices).

The decor has not changed at all, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Pleasant and mellow vibe throughout the restaurant with dimmed lighting set in a modern contemporary Japanese design.

The service is still great every time I've been there (probably more than 30 times now since my last review), though it may drop when the restaurant is full. The touchscreen menu though will guarantee to get you a waiter/waitress.

Overall, these guys are still steaming along - good value.

I shall keep this review succinct. Cozy place with a killer omelette menu and an even better service. The service alone would keep me coming back, please don't ever change!

I feel fortunate that we jumped the gun and decided to go ahead to book with Favela. I admit that reading all of these negative reviews left me nervous from the day of booking to the actual day to dine itself. It was overall, a very pleasant experience, and believe this is how Favela could shine when they get it right.

Let's be honest here, churrascarias are made for group (>4 people) settings and the concept is based on meat being served at a regular interval over a period of time (which seems to be a common source for complaints), so straight up, it's not an ideal eatery for couples, unless you can fill in the waiting time with conversation.

We booked using Scoopon-style coupons, and our first attempt at booking wasn't a good experience, they seem to have some kind of aversion to phone calls to alert us that our booking wasn't possible. So I suggest you do keep a close eye on your e-mails, or that you chase them up by phone. Our second attempt was fine and we made sure that we kept calling to ensure we were booked in, it's a shame that despite having something convenient such as their electronic booking system, it still comes down to patrons to chase up reservation status.

Okay, to the food, I've never been to any other churrascarias so I couldn't compare. When they came with the first round of meat, we were given one serving each (half the size of a five dollar note, I was rather surprised and disappointed at the same time. However, side dishes (fragrant rice, sauces, salsas and baked potatoes) were unlimited and free.

But as the rounds went by (beef, pork, chicken, lamb, pineapple fritters, haloumi, pork and beef sausages) I became surprisingly full, that right there, exceeded my initial expectations of this place. Having good company helped too with the waiting aspect.

The staff were pleasant and attentive, and they do serve second serves in one round, If you treat them nicely. I think the amount they give does depend on the attitudes of people they are serving. The decor was great, with a bar, dining hall and private section and seatings making for a rather classy place for a drink.

For $20 a head, you could say no wrong about this place. I strongly recommend that you do book, because this place gets busy (we went on a Sunday night and it was still bustling).

Wagamama easily had the worst Japanese food I've had in the CBD (it wasn't that bad, just out of all the Japanese places I've eaten at). Firstly it wasn't even cooked by Japanese cooks, you can see the cooks from where you eat. My "Japanese" curry ($13.50) did not even remotely taste like the genuine thing. This factor alone means I won't be back. The dishes that my friends and I ate were small to boot.
The service was okay, attentive staff when you can get their attention, which was most of the time.

The food at Zozo is expensive. My friend's seafood hotpot looked very delicious and satisfying. My seafood pancake was very nice, but a little expensive. Service was good, attentive staff, one was nice enough to wait for us while we got into a pose. I won't be back here in a hurry, as there are better Korean restaurants out there in the city.

A satisfying fare if you make it satisfying. I didn't make it worth the money as I got full very quickly. The food is probably the best I've had at a buffet, and its range was impressive too. Both occasions I've been there, there was a massive queue that sprawled outside of the buffet entrance. That said, it is very busy at any time of the day.

I found Fujiya's value for money a little on the poor side, particularly when you see their portion size. The restaurant's interior is impressive and adds to the Japanese ambience. Service was okay, though it was a little hard to get their attention at times.
