Had a wonderful Sunday lunch upstairs in one of the private rooms away from the noisy yum cha crowd. Had mud crab, pipis and chilli drunken prawns cooked at the table. Absolutely delicious and wait staff friendly and professional. Pricey but well worth it for a special occasion.

Family of 4 went to Blakes on Mothers Day Sunday night. The only food on offer was a set menu banquet. It consisted of 4 tasting entres, 1 main (choice of approx 12 dishes) and 4 tasting desserts plus coffee/tea. At the price of $55 per head it was an absolute bargain. The dishes were presented as a classy restaurant should. We each had a different main and all were high quality with quantity.
The night was very satisfying as the meals were brought out at just the right interval and considering it's a BYO place the value was exceptional. Certainly way above Bistro quality. I must mention that we had a red wine that was absolutely superb with our read meat that I had not had the pleasure of tasting before. It was a 2009 "Heartland" Cab Sav. and for about $15-$20 a bottle (depending on specials), it was full of flavour, complex, old oak and berry flavour and smooth without bitter tannins.

Had a wonderful lunch on Saturday. The food was cooked to perfection (I had Duck) although there was a limited menu. The service was spot on without being overbearing. Very professional and every interaction was returned with a smile. The only slight disappointment was the wine list. It was not that extensive and did not have many classic well know labels. Although the red blend we had from the USA was surprisingly good.

Booked this restaurant for Christmas 08. We were assured by the restaurant owner (who by the way owns many other Indian Restaurants) that our group of 30 would have the top part of the restaurant to ourselves. Twice we had this confirmed and the menu and price.
When we arrived on the day, we were astounded to find another 30 people there as well. I immediately asked to speak to the m=owner. Somehow, the staff could not contact him. Surprise, surprise. We were seated like in a tin of sardines. Although the food was reasonably tasty, the portions were abysmally small. After all that, the resident manager wanted to charge us more for the food.
Needless to say, we were gazumpted. It was a horrible, noisy, crowed, hot and uncomfortable afternoon. Needless to say, our group of 30 and any acquaintances that are told about this fiasco will not be back to this place.

Party of 5 on a Saturday night. We all enjoyed the experience however, for the price, we expected better tasting food. The dishes were well presented however, they were not up to the standard of a fine dining restaurant. Wines were marked up substantially and the cocktails were very disappointing where ice was most substantial ingredient.
Views are great but not as good. Finally, the mens and ladies toilets really needed a good clean. I would be embarrassed to let overseas visitors use them.

I dined with the family the Saturday night before Mother's day. The place was full, so I had immediately had expectations of delays and noise. I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet and reserved ambience and efficient service. The waiters were very friendly and exhibited the right amount of attention to our wishes (although we had to ask for water initially and for a top up).
The food specials for the night were presented on a show plate and were beautifully presented and explained. The same treatment was given for desserts. A very nice touch you don't often see in restaurants. To summarise the food for 4 adults is difficult, however, three of us has Oysters for entree and Lobster for mains.
The menu was extensive and favoured seafood (as you would expect). The Oysters were very a delight, however, a few were perceived as not totally fresh. The Lobsters were presented to a high standard but not the best we have tasted.
Overall the meals were above average but could not rate them as top class. The wine list was reasonably priced but not as extensive as your higher class restaurants.
Overall a very enjoyable night considering how busy the restaurant was.
