Firstly – the view is spectacular. However, this isn’t enough to make up for the incredibly slow service, the tatty furniture and the average food at ridiculous prices.
We were seated along a couch on one side of the table and although it was stuffed with cushions you could see all the wear and tear on it, making it look like furniture from a youth hostel rather than a nice restaurant. Similarly the metal surfaces needed polishing and there were crumbs on the chairs.
We arrived at 12pm for our lunch booking and didn’t get our entrees until 1.30pm. It then took another hour for mains. We had asked repeatedly about the delay and in the end we wanted to leave before the mains even came. When they did arrive they were really average and somehow things which should have been flavour-packed were bland. The only mains that some of our group enjoyed were the simple grilled fish, although again the sauces served with them were nothing special. And for $35+ dishes you feel ripped off.
I wouldn’t come back here, there are far better places around.

I really like the space and the communal table atmosphere was friendly and spacious. On a Saturday night we wondered in without a reservation and happily occupied a corner of the table without being squashed or pushed around.
The wine list was interesting and the carafes allowed us to try the cocktails as well which were good.
We were told by our waiter that the dishes were designed to share, but I was disappointed that a restaurant whose hype is all about their kitchen garden had hardly any vegetarian dishes. The flat bread was nice and the radish and cucumber salad fresh and light. The orecchiette (which was described as coming with tomato and basil) came with asparagus and tomatoes in a sort-of pesto and was OK without being good. The best thing we had was the thick chips with black garlic aioli.
We did see the famous salt plates on which the tuna dish is served and while they look nice the one next to us crumbled as the waiter tried to pick it up.
I look forward to returning when the menu has changed and hopefully more vegetarian things are added.

The service was quick so good for a work-day lunch but the food was ordinary. By 12.30 they were almost full so they must be doing something right, but for my part the tempura batter was soggy and the veggies undercooked.
It was a nice touch that they didn't charge for the green tea, so many places in the city charge for tea on top of inflated food prices.

I have been here a few times and I have to say the food is good if you order the right things. I was disappointed with the ravioli’s and risotto that I have tried, the flavours were just a bit average.
The strength of this place seems to be the cold stuff, anti pasti and salads. The vegi anti pasto is fantastic value at $10 for a plank of marinated veggies, cheeses and grated veggie salad. The side of mozzarella is beautiful with lemon and mint, and the traviso and gorgonzola salad is packed pull of flavour. All the ingredients are fresh and simply presented.
The bread is nice if you can get it (we had to ask several times) and my friend enjoyed his huge burger. The waiters are hard to find but the place is always buzzy and although we got a table straight away there still seems to be plenty of people willing to queue to get in.

The owner was very friendly, if not overly so, but the other staff needed some training and were not so helpful. The food was slow in coming, which isn’t good for a work day.
The cheese ciabatta is an open ‘sandwich’ which is really cheese and tomato on toast with some sort of chutney. Not great and especially not for $16. The accompanying chips were like hot crisps, really thin and tasteless.
My friend did enjoy his salmon and I must say it looked a lot better than the sandwich. I must give them credit for making their own pastrami and smoked salmon, I am sure these things are good. Maybe its just the vegetarian options that are average.

Many thanks for your honest critique. We at Momo Brasserie are anxious all our customers have an enjoyable experience. We were therefore disappointed to read your expectations were not met. I thought the food was good but the prices were a bit mixed. The arancini was $10 for 2 small balls which I thought was a bit steep, as was $19 for a tomato and mozzarella side salad.
The place is small and the tables are very close together – we were practically sharing a table with the people next to us. The chairs are unmatched, so some are more comfortable than others, but otherwise the decor was Ok. The waiters were attentive most of the time, although they didn’t tell us about the specials (we heard them tell the table 3 away). And for a place which calls itself a bar we got a wine list on the back of the menu but no other drinks were offered (cocktails for example).
The arancini were nice although you couldn’t really taste the rice over the concentrated tomato sauce over the top. The steak tartare with mint and coriander was enjoyed but not as much as a more classic version.
The standout was the fusilli with mushrooms – full of porcini flavour on pasta with beautiful texture. The lasagne was homely and nice. The tomato and mozzarella salad was generous but had too much parsley and not enough basil for my taste.
All in all it was really good home-style food which we would be happy to have again.

We had a quick lunch here and can't wait to go back. The service was friendly and I thought the food was fantastic value.
I had the twice baked spinach, caramelised onion and goat's cheese soufflé and it was packed full of flavour but beautifully light at the same time. Such a nice change from so many other places where a twice cooked soufflé just tastes of cream.
My husband really enjoyed his duck confit baguette which was served on crunchy fresh bread with lots of duck. We saw people on another table devouring desserts and I look forward to trying them when we go back with more time to properly enjoy the full experience.

I like the space and the bar has some comfortable armchairs. The room, however, is very loud and you can hardly hear the person sitting opposite you. It was more casual than I was expecting, lots of families with kids, and people wearing t-shirts.
The service was very rushed, as soon as you put your chopsticks down they took away the plates, with no time to mop-up the sauces and even finish swallowing! This resulted in a very quick meal.
The menu is really all about sushi and sashimi. There are no noodles and no tofu dishes. The vegetarian choices are quite limited, however, everything I had was Ok. The desserts were not very Japanese, we had a chocolate peanut-butter fondant.
Nothing was a stand-out though. The prices were very high and the servings small, as I guess you would expect at the casino.

We came early on a Sunday night and got a table straight away. I like the space and the bar area is comfortably furnished and roomy.
The menu is really interesting and there were so many things I wanted to try we will have to go back to try them all. The dishes are a mix of Greek, Turkish, Middle Eastern cuisines with an emphasis on meat but also heaps of vegetarian dishes.
The flatbread which comes to the table is nice if not a little too charred. The arancini are very similar to the ones at North Bondi Italian (owned by the same people) but served which yoghurt. The buffalo haloumi had a beautiful salsa on top but the texture was a bit weird. Also the 2 pieces of cheese you get for $16 was a bit pricey. The tortelloni was also a bit disappointing however the rest of the dishes were very good. The standout for me was the barley bruschetta, which they assemble at the table.
All the food was fresh and simply done which is great however I thought the prices were high, but I guess you pay for the name and reputation of the place. The service was good although the waiters took plates away as soon as you took the food off them and a few times we had to ask to leave them so we could soak up the sauces.

We went for dinner with friends and I thought it was alright but nothing special. The serve was very casual and the food was slow to come out.
The 'snack' share plates are quite small (like 2 little things on a plate) so in order to share you have to order a few of everything.
The main courses were all Ok (there are only 3 so between us we ordered at least one of everything). The gnocchi was quite large compared to the tiny pork belly. The fish serve was also small but came with a generous serve of jerusalem artichoke puree.
The churros were good although the foam served with it was too light but the lemon curd was unpleasantly set like rubber.
