Best pork belly I've ever eaten (Pavé de Porc). So good it turned my vegetarian boyfriend back to eating meat. We'll be back.

There may be a dozen or more Thai restaurants on King St but Thai Pothong is always my number 1 choice. I've been here for dinner with my boyfriend on numerous occasions, as well as larger gatherings with friends and family. The service is always fantastic and the food has never disappointed.

Our favourite dishes by far would be: Seafood Hor Mok Talay - Best HMT I've ever had. Miang Goong - try it if you haven't! BBQ Pork - delicious.

The banquets are a great option for a big group, the food arrives quickly and is plentiful, you won't leave hungry! It's not the cheapest but it's certainly my pick for Thai on King St.

I'm quite a regular of PHD. My partner and I come in about once a week in winter for the excellent beef pho and it's cheap! Their other dishes are great too and also very well priced. Forget the other Vietnamese Pho restaurants on Illawarra Road and head straight to PDH! Here's a tip, it's easier to get a seat without waiting if you arrive early.

Review 2 - 2nd visit
We came back to Emmilou because we had a voucher deal (tasting menu for 2 and a cocktail each). The food and cocktails were tasty but it didn't ~quite~ seem like enough food. We didn't leave hungry, but we weren't completely satisfied either. We found the ambience much better than our 1st visit. We arrived at 6pm straight from work so maybe that helped. This time the music wasn't overbearing and the staff were very attentive. Overall Emmilou remains a place we'll no doubt come back to.

Great food and even better cocktails. More meat-free choices would be good, my boyfriend was limited to only a few options which was a little disappointing. Lovely place but ambience lost points because it was so noisy! Possibly better suited for a get together with friends than a romantic dinner for 2.

We came here because we had a pre-purchased dinner voucher (banquet for 2 including entree, main, dessert and bottle of house wine).

We arrived quite early in the evening. Papadums, dips and entrees were served quickly. After we finished entrees the restaurant had filled up more and it took longer for the mains to arrive. Because of the delay we ended up quite full from the entrees and didn't fit in much of the mains, though the staff happily packaged our left overs to take home. Some of the mains tasted a bit similar, lots of cloves!

Still, more good fresh food than we could eat, the staff were attentive and though the restaurant was a bit dark it didn't impede our meal, conversation or enjoyment.

I'm not sure we'd come back and pay full price, but I wouldn't hesitate if I saw another voucher deal.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for hang over breakfast semi-regularly for the last 2 years. The food is always good and plentiful. We've slowly learned to stop eating before the plate is empty so we don't feel bloated for the rest of the day. There is one waiter who always looks a bit cranky but having been back so many times now we usually just laugh it off if he's in a bit of a mood.

It'd be good if we could get seats outside more often, the courtyard is great when it's not too hot.

I thought the food was good and the sashimi was well presented. The menu looked overpriced though I came here for a corporate lunch and thankfully didn't have to pay the bill! The wait staff were disinterested and we had to go out of our way to get their attention. Far from the best Japanese in Sydney but I might come back for more lava rolls.

Me and my partner have lunch here regularly. The food is always hot and fresh and the staff are always friendly. It can get a bit noisy but it is worth it for the Tom Yum Seafood Fried Rice.

Came here with my boyfriend to try okonomiyaki about 6 months ago. We've been back numerous times and the food is always superb. Great range of sake (though I suggest you give shochu a try) and always friendly smiling staff. It is a very small restaurant so I'd suggest booking ahead.
