"God drinks at the Sando" sings Tim Freedman of the Whitlams, and in this case I might believe him. (I think it's the guy in the corner with dreadlocks!).
The bar food is pretty average but then again with the price you can't complain. The helpful bar stuff informed us of a "cheap" Thai place and allowed us to "sneak" the food upstairs to the second level. The cocktails were cheap lolly water undistinguishable from one another so we stayed on the beer. God's drink I hear.

Half way up the hill of death (foveux st) this cosy pub is the perfect place to catch your breath. I've never ordered off the menu, as usually I arrive after the kitchen has closed!
One of the few venues where you can go and see live bands of excellent quality (such as The Kandy Apples, Liz Eliz and co) for free!

Sail away sail away! That was the tune I was humming as I left (ok maybe a lie but so fitting).
The staff were attentive and helpful with special dietry requirements and both the menu and wine list were excellent. Set your sites on sails!

Tucked off King Street Newtown, this place is always busy - for a reason. The Barristas are Artists (and award winners, as all the reviews inside reveal - something to read while you wait!). Campos delivers the best cup of coffee in Sydney for a reasonable price. My only complaint would be that they charge extra for soy!
