Slow service and slow for food to come out. I ordered a bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, salad etc. The bagel was not a bagel but a slightly bagel shaped white bread roll. If you cannot get the simple things right...

They could have got a higher review bar for: missing ingredients on two out of three breakfasts (house made relish on the omelette, fresh basil on the omelette and potato hash). When this was brought up with waitress she stated it was "all mixed in" - but there was nary a skerrick of green to be seen. I also paid $3 extra for "speck" on my pan fried eggs and was given three postage stamped sized pieces of well cooked bacon which didn't have the specky flavour or appearance.
That being said, it was tasty, and the coffee was well made. It rankled, however, to pay the higher prices for fancy food that didn't live up to the description on the menu.

I love the idea of pie tin - so why a 5 for food? I ride there all the time, different pie each time. Yet, yet, despite great pastry and lovely sides (coleslaw a great treat) the pie fillings (savoury) always fall down for me. The classic meat pie was over flavoured with what felt like a store sauce, the lamb and rosemary - lamb was tough and pie under seasoned, the steak/Guinness with potato - again tough and not as flavoursome as it could be. The Veggie broccoli and cauliflower with cheese didn't have a cheese/white sauce, more just a layer of cheddar on top of veggies...
Today I had a new beef brisket and mushroom, and the meat was in big chunks, of which 50% was fat, and not meat, and the mushroom around was watery. I want so hard to love the pies, but always I am disappointed. I feel the store needs to embrace more spices and fresh herbs, and choose slightly better cuts of meat.
The sweet pies are always a winner and coffee and sides always delicious. For a place called Pie Tin - they need to work on the hero of their store, the humble pie. Also - since becoming licensed, the three times I have been in its no longer self serve table water - I suppose to encourage you to buy a cool beer if you are thirsty. You can still ask for table water... but the change is noticeable to me.

Basically this place is Ok. They always have the music on too loud. There are no frills to the food or service but its not horrible.

They are always fast at making coffee and service with a smile. Once my coffee was way too strong and manager replaced it fast and friendly without making me feel bad. Sometimes it can be a bit loud inside with the tile floors. Only gripe is they charge extra surcharge for paying by Eftpos, pretty much the only cafe I know who does this and wonder if its actually legal for them to do so.

Sign on door says "air conditioned inside". They ushered us in and made us sit at a table right under the "air conditioner" which was blowing lukewarm air mostly because they kept the front door open the whole time, blowing in super hot air!
The food was bland, hash browns are frozen kind from supermarket, poached eggs were obviously microwaved and avocado on my breakfast plat stringy and mushy! the waitress was nice. The senior staffs hover around and shout at each other and the waitresses. It was like being in an old persons lounge room, or over at your friends house and their parents won't go away. Never again!
