Took a lovely friend of mine to Bistro Ortolan last night for her 40th birthday celebrations, having had a great meal here last year. We both walked away having had a fabulous evening.

The food was delicious, some truly delicate flavours in the mudcrab tortellini and the red snapper main with Hervey bay scallops was divine. We shared the Bombe Alaska for dessert which they kindly decorated with her name (written in chocolate sauce) and a gold candle, thoughtful.

Service was excellent and knowledgeable and though we could have stayed all night, they did not push us out the door. I love this place, it thoroughly deserves its' two hats.

We went to the New Shanghai after reading a review in the paper and looking up the eatability reviews. We were proactive with the waiters (as suggested by one of the eatability reviews) and this worked well.

Food was great and served in time. Nice to see the chefs sitting out the back making the dumplings. We had our kids with us (8 and 4 yo) and there was no trouble with spills/ noise etc. The only shocker was the toilet. It had been raining heavily and one of the toilets was blocked. Not good. Hope they fix it soon.

Very accommodating host. I had a large group that I needed to organise dinner for (26 people). Atom has a room at the back of the restaurant that he made available to us. We were served from either the banquet or the a-la carte menu as needed. Excellent service and excellent food. Highly recommended.
