Mezanotte is a great restaurant in Dee Why, we have been back there a few times as we love the food, which is also terrific value, and also the lively atmosphere you get on a Friday night. You can get at least two courses and a couple of drinks for less than $50 (two people). Service is fine, plenty of staff running around all attentive to our needs. Definitely worth a shot.

Darbar may be the best Indian in Sydney (according to the other reviews) but it's a long way off some of the food I've tasted in other cities. However, it wasn't bad at all, must admit I love the downstairs arrangement, it was empty when we arrived so got a choice place near the fire place. I was amused when one of the gormless staff almost set himself on fire when he chucked lighter fuel onto the fire to get it going, less amused he almost barbequed my girlfriend.
Darbar don't do chicken tikka masala, which annoyed me as it's my favourite, I ended up a with a jalfrezi I think which was pretty good. Use your Ent card for a discount.

I had the New Orleans pizza which comes with the sour cream and I loved it. Food was brought out fairly quickly given it was quite busy. Not being from CH found it impossible to park as the multi-storey was packed and we spent about 20 mins trying to find a space (around saturday lunchtime).

My experience is not based on the beer served as I was driving, however we had a pleasant experience here on a sunny Sunday afternoon. As per most of the reviews below, I thought the location was excellent, even inside you get a good view out the window to the sunny bay beyond. The service was attentive, friendly, overall just how it should be. The staff are indeed extremely beautiful, I wonder if it is policy to wear their blouses half buttoned, but I certainly wasn't complaining!
The food was brought over quickly, I think it's a bit pricy for what it is though. The schnitzels were tasty but the portion of fries was quite tiny. We had flammenbrot for a starter to share (ideal size for two), which was was tasty but a little disappointing although my partner liked it. Although we had soft drinks, I saw numerous bizarrely shaped beer glasses around the place that only made me more thirsty, it looks terrific.
Overall we had a very pleasant meal in a nice atmosphere / surroundings, and would certainly go back, but would probably reserve a table outside facing the water this time.

We had to wait 40 minutes for our pub grub, the place was half empty on a sunday afternoon but I was told it was because the kitchen was really 'busy'. Really slow more like! The food however was pretty good, the balcony area was full so we ate by the window which was fine, nice view out into the harbour. Staff seemed friendly enough. We weren't blown away, $6 for a schooner of stella is a bitt steep. Main courses between $15 and $20. In summary a cracking little hotel in a nice location, just don't expect your food fast!

Have to agree with previous reviews this place is a very ambient location to have a quiet Italian style meal. It is BYO and not licensed, main courses about $20, starters around $15. I ordered the lemon chicken, my partner the sirloin steak, which was prepared exactly according to a special request. The service was excellent, food ready in less than 20 minutes, friendly, attentive. I think this place will grow in popularity and as we are local will more than likely visit again. Definitely worth a try, the friendly staff make it a pleasure to eat here.

We had a takeaway from here just recently as we fancied some malaysian style food rather than the usual fish and chips or italian that is so common around Kirribilli.
My partner and I ordered two completely different dishes and they arrived looking identical. The food style is large chopped vegetables in a rather watery type sauce, regardless of which dish you choose! Having said that, we both enjoyed the taste, and for the value its quite a reasonable takeaway.
Some notes on the place itself, there are several menus on the wall which can be confusing, actually its the lunch menus on the right, and dinner menus on the left. Also you can usually expect fast service on the takeaway, in this case we collected and it was cooked fast and still rather hot.

This place is huge, with tables spilling out onto the street and a huge function room inside. We went during a quiet time and took a table on the outside balcony, which was nicely shaded from the sun. The starter was garlic pizza bread, strange description as there was no trace of any garlic whatsover, just a sprinkling of non-descript herbs and spices. As a result it was quite a bland dish and ultimately disappointing.
My partner and I both ordered pasta for mains which was overall quite tasty, good size portions and hot. I ordered spaghetti carbonara. The carbonara sauce itself was nice and rich, the pasta was al dente which is not really to my taste, but I still enjoyed the meal overall. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, plastic menus and plastic chairs, although they have made some effort to give it a fairly modern look. Enough to keep tourists happy but not enough to secure repeat trade from local sydneysiders like myself.
Overall not a bad choice for an Italian dish if you happen to be in the rocks area, at a reasonable price.

As a Milsons Point resident I've tried a few local places, Grace of India and Ambalas, but neither of them get close to the Blu Ginger restaurant on Blues Point Road. There are a few more places to try (one on Lavender Rd) but I was very impressed with this place.
My usual order, tikka masala, pilau rice and peshwari naan was available and tasted delicious, although the naan was a little flat (I like nice fluffy bread straight out of the oven). The masala sauce was thick and creamy the way it should be, unlike the liquid and watery thin offerings in the aforementioned restaurants. In addition, I was pleased that no unecessary vegetables such as peas were added, which seems to be a feature of some Indian restaurants in Sydney (and maybe Australia?).
My friend likes his curry hot, and his Jalfrezi was a little timid for his tastebuds, but then he is used to very hot currys back home in the UK. My partner couldn't find her chicken Dupiaza dish on the menu (strange though since its a popular dish), so she went for CTM with me and enjoyed it.
Overall service was relatively quick, inside the restaurant is a bit dark and cramped, with plasticy tablecloths, so lower marks for ambience.
We paid about $80 for 3 meals, naans and rice, 2 beers and a soft drink, which I think is tremendously good value for such tasty food. These are locals prices and better than you will pay in the CBD where the tourists don't know any better. Overall I would heartily recommend this Indian restaurant for a good Curry followed by a leisurely stroll around Lavendar bay, or on to one of the many bars on Blues Point road.

I ate there in the company of my partner and three friends on a weekday evening, after phoning up in advance and requesting a table overlooking the harbour. The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend with the caveat 'its a bit pricey'. I can safely say the higher than average pricing is fully justified!
We had a lovely table overlooking the harbour, there are no windows here, its all open air dining which was really nice as there was a light breeze coming in on what was a relatively hot day.
Service throughout the meal was friendly and attentive. Our main courses took about 25-30 minutes, which I thought was a little extended given the place was more than half empty, but in the end, worth the wait.
I went for the 7oz fillet medium, it was deliciously tender and perfectly cooked. I couldn't have asked for better. My companion who ordered the smaller 5oz fillet said it was the best steak she'd ever had! I chose mash to accompany the steak and it was perfectly creamy and tasty. If like me you have a healthy appetite a side order of vegetables is a good companion, consisting of beans and broccoli. However I thought the greens were a little over crunchy and under cooked.
A previous review makes reference to a steamed ginger pudding, i believe this is what we all had. It's described on the menu as toffee apple pudding, but is really just a ginger sponge with a hint of cinammon. My partner was disappointed with the dessert and didn't finish it. I thought it was adequate but expected a more traditional treacle tart which is how it's described. If it wasn't for the pudding and dessert I'd have happily given a 9 for food, so I'll go for 8 instead.
Overall we had a very nice meal, which is just about justified by the prices they charge. Its certainly a class above the places you find in the southern harbour area.
