Fabulous. Organised and attended a corporate product launch event at Flying Fish today which was excellent. Our group of 36 was accommodated upstairs and the whole experience was just sensational. Holly and the team at Flying fish did a great job. They accommodated us effortlessly after a previously booked venue had a fire in their kitchen. Nothing was a problem. Organising the event was easy. The food was excellent. The service (thank you Rachel) was perfect and our clients loved it. Can't speak highly enough of the whole experience. Thanks again.K

Wow - this is a small sace but packed with lively conversation and buzz.
Where do you start with the food - everything was amazing - from the Boudin Noir & Prawn entree, followed by the Mulloway main and honeycomb bavoir, everything was excellent. The presentation was really impressive, time between course was fine and staff were friendly and helpful. I've wanted to try this restaurant for literlly years and it was definitely worth the wait.

Excellent! What to do, new to a job and asked to organise the Xmas Party for 20 people with 2 weeks notice for the Friday night a week before Xmas. The Sugaroom was well and truly up to the challenge. From relaxed drinks on the outdoor terrace to start, things were even better when we sat down for dinner.

Service was excellent, there when you needed it but not intrusive. The food came out well timed, all at the same time and received unanimous thumbs up from everyone in the group. Fish, vegetarian and fabulous steaks, couldn't fault any of it and we had a diverse range of tastes and expectations.

Wine list is extensive with plenty of wines in each price range. A really good night thoroughly enjoyed by the whole of our group. Well done!

Went here with a group of friends (there were 12 of us) last month for the first time. From the outside the restaurant is a bit bland but when you enter, the atmosphere is buzzy and the staff are very friendly. A couple of people in our party had eaten here before so they organised a banquet.

The service was good and the food came out fairly quickly. There was enough of each dish for all of us to try everything (just). Its BYO so the price of drinks wasn't a problem, however, for food, I left still feeling hungry and was a bit disappointed about the amount of food we got for the price.

Also its great for groups but I wouldn't go there if you're looking for a romantic dinner for two.

All the previous comments about this place are valid. I like the breezy beachside feeling of this place but each time I go there I cringe at the thought the service might be slow. The last few times its been fine and the staff have been friendly but given I've eaten here fairly regularly (every 3-4 months) over the last 5-6 years, sometimes it can be a bit slow or disappointing (I got sugar snap peas in one meal that were well past their use by date).

That said the coffee is always good and the seafood tapas plate is to die for. I'd go back again.

Every year for the last three years, a group of friends and I have caught up here for lunch or dinner. Each time the food, service and atmosphere have been fantastic. You can't beat the view, the menu has plenty of variety and the staff know how to provide good friendly service without going over the top. Ok its not cheap, but you get what you pay for and I always come away from here feeling like I enjoyed the experience.

I don't know why this place doesn't score better! Yes the menu has been the same as long as I've been going there (2+ yrs), but they do things well so why change. The chicken curry is good, as is the fish and the service is always excellent. Its a good place to bring clients for coffee or for lunch.

If you have an Entertainment book, its also in there so you get a discount, but even without the discount the prices are fine for what you get.

Love this place! Yes you have to be in by 12:30 for lunch or you'll never get a seat, but make the effort and enjoy the experience. The menu is limited at lunch, baguettes, quiches and pies with a few specials, but its all good and the ambience makes up for any slowness or forgetfulness in the staff.

Try it as a starting point on Friday nights before a night out. Plenty of wines by the glass, great cheese platters and enough noise to make it interesting but not so much that its over powering.

I used to love dining here breakfast lunch or dinner, but when they changed the menu format about 9 months ago, despite returning several times at lunchtime, I've been really disappointed.

The lunch menu needs a good overhaul as do some of the backpacker staff. The lunch menu is likely to leave you hungry and wondering what you did wrong to deserve such mediocre service. Smiles are great, but not if they're expected to make up for poor service.

This is a great little place. We've eaten here several times over the last 12 months and you're always assured of good service and good food. Try the warm black olives as an appetiser along with the tomato herb and garlic bread. The pizzas are good for both adults and kids. The ambience is warm and friendly and you'll always find a smile on the face of the staff. Great for a romantic dinner or family group or group of friends.
