Service was great, ambience and decor was great. Food was really delicious, so much so that we even ordered dessert, and I don't normally have dessert anywhere. But their dessert menu sounded great. We shared a blood orange creme brulee. Will go back.

We went there based on some great reviews. Prices were good for a tapas restaurant and loved the interior. However, it got pretty noisy. Food was nice, but there was no wow factor. I asked the waiter about one of the wines on the menu, and he went and got the bottle and read straight off the back of the label. I can't say that impressed me at all. I don't think I'll be going back in a hurry. Worth a try though.

The menu looked great, the decor was nice, so we thought it was worth a try, which it was. I wouldn't say I'm in a hurry to go back though. Food was nice, but nothing outstanding. I ordered a eggplant side, which was way too hot (probably horseradish), and I didn't end up eating it, nothing was mentioned about how hot it was on the menu.

At least they asked me why I didn't eat it, and they offered me a refund (which I refused, as I assume that is how it was meant to be, and I just don't like really hot dishes). My partner had the steak, which he said was ok, but the Jus was way too sweet. I had the pie, which was really just a pie, nothing special. Prices were ok, but for the price we probably expecting a bit more.

You have to have the vegetable kofta, it's awesome! Everything I've had from here I have enjoyed, won't go anywhere else for my curry. Very reasonably priced too. However, I never order it for delivery, it takes ages! I always go and pick it up.

I've been here about four times, and it gotten worse and worse. We got the large sashimi plater, and was unimpressed as soon as it hit the table, the salmon was a really pale color, but we hoped it tasted better, and although all the fish tasted fresh, it was all really bland and tasteless, probably the worst sashimi I've had in Melbourne, I guess they had brought a really low quality grade of fish.

We spoke to the waitress about it, who said she would pass it on to the chef (who was also the manager) but we didn't hear anything back. The rest of the food was much the same, edible but not really tasty or the least bit impressive. Won't be going back, there are many other Japanese restaurants in Melbourne that are much better than Torimatsu.
