Went here for dinner on a Sunday night for my birthday with my husband. We both had the degustation menu, it's definitely a lot of food and I loved some of the dishes, eg, cured kindfish with dashi jelly, it's so refreshing and perfect for entree, liked the grilled mullaway and venison for main.

However, some of the dish was not that appealing to me, eg, the polenta (too buttery, not much flavor of the truffle), chicken wing and lamb sweet bread (didn't want to eat chicken wing in a hatted restaurant no matter how it was cooked), and the dessert is missing the point for me.

Feel quite full after the menu, actually I didn't finish some of the dish and give to my hubby. To be honest, I expect a bit more. I don't mind come back for lunch or A la carte, but not the degustation menu, unless they put on some really good stuff.

The entry disappointed me, oyster is so small and not fresh, the prawn dish has too many flours, taste like fast food. Main is fine, T-bone steak is cooked to perfection, just the chips to go with is very weird, my ocean trout is good too. Then, I had the worst dessert ever, spiced pear with crumbles, tasted like those frozen ones been reheated, caramel creme was in a sauce container, very running, I asked the staff what's that, the stuff looked at it confusing then said "custard".

Considering I was using the voucher, so it's not bad value, but I wouldn't be going back to pay the full price for their food.

Recommended by my colleagues, we went there for dinner on a Wednesday night, ordered the degustation menu with wine and cheese platter, the food is sensational and amazing, wish we didn't order the cheese platter as we both are full even before the dessert. The wine to go with each dish is all right, but could be better.

Will definitely go back to try something new as I was told the menu changes every season. A nice night with great food.

I read the reviews from here and went to Masa for CNY eve dinner with friends. I have to be honest, this place I won't go back any more. We paid over 160 bucks for 4, but none of us feel full (even the two girls, we are small eaters, don't even mention the two guys).

The price for every dish is a little bit higher than others but it's all right, however, you'll be surprised how much the portion is. They sliced one scallop to three and tell you this is three pieces, they do the same for the sashimi, I do appreciate the slicing skills of the chef however feel cheated when I saw the 20 pcs sashimi plate we ordered come out with those tiny things on the plate. The agedashi tofu dish, there is only 2 pieces of tofu in it and again they sliced it to four, and there is no dried fish flakes for topping (maybe they just run out of stock as I remember one of the review specially mentioned it), this is the worst tofu I had so far.

The soft shell crab is quite good. Yellow tail sashimi is just so so. We ordered the large Unagi avocado sushi place(18$ approx. can't remember exactly), only comes 6 tiny pieces. Main doesn't come with any rice or soup, so we ordered 4 rices. The rice size surprised us again. The fish and sushi are fresh but not impressive, I could easily find some other places that can make same or better quality sushi but charge you much cheaper and the size could feed you.

If you went to Masuya (city) before and thought it wasn't a cheap but a really nice place (both ambience and food, that's what I thought), you might find this place is more expensive but the food can't compare. I'm not too picky with the ambience and service but would expect more comparing with the price.

Btw, they don't open for lunches anymore. We drive there last Saturday and found it's closed, went back this time but got so disappointed.
