My husband and I popped in here for a quick bite and a glass of wine before heading home, the Crispy Pig on the bar snacks sounded delicious. Service at this point was friendly and the wine came out promptly.

Our cutlery was then set up and we waited and waited and waited, 45 minutes later my husband was getting slightly irate as it was only a bar snack and the restaurant wasn't busy, while he was using the rest room I asked one of the passing waiters how much longer?, he went to ask and I knew something was wrong, the person that took our order had forgotten to push the button to send it through to the kitchen, he asked if we still wanted it, as we still had a 40 minute drive home we said no.

I know that the restaurant is fairly new and things do go wrong sometimes but we were right in front of the bar and the staff should have noticed that the food was taking too long to come out well before we had to ask especially as the table next to us came in about 20 minutes after and had their food within 15 minutes.

My husband and I have dined at several of the winery restaurants on the Peninsula and Veraison is definitely up there with some of the best. The charcuterie plate was excellent with more than enough for two which we took our time over, we didn't feel rushed and had plenty of time to relax before the mains came out. Fillet steak with the peppercorn sauce was cooked perfectly,(rare) and the vegies that accompanied it were fresh and crisp.

There was a large group in on the day and the manager came over to see if we were happy to relax before our mains came out as we had almost finished the charcuterie plate and the large table had just ordered mains, as we were in no hurry that was fine with us. It was nice to know that there would be a slightly longer break between entree and main.

Bluestone Shiraz went well with the steak and was well priced at $40. Will definitely be returning in the future.

We had the 5 course Omikaze for lunch which was absolutely sensational. A couple of sashimi/sushi dishes followed by black cod (divine) and then a shared beef dish and then topped off with a chocolate fondant with green tea ice cream. Have only eaten here 3 times since it opened and sometimes wonder why, the food is always good.

On arriving our table wasn't ready so we were taken downstairs to a lovely lounge area where another group were waiting, 40 minutes later we were the last ones there despite many groups arriving after us and then being shown to their table quickly, not a great start as it is now 9.10 pm.

Finally shown to our table after much apologising and it was right by the window which was open and overlooking the river could understand why the people before us took so long to leave. We asked for two glasses of Belle Epoque champagne which was available downstairs, (not available in the restaurant), disappointing but chose something else.

Onto the food, what can I say, it was sensational. Oysters were so fresh and had the salty taste which we both love, my husband had the crayfish salad which he thoroughly enjoyed and also the Barramundi which was smoked and then steamed, amazing flavour. I had the soft shell crab which was in the lightest Tempura batter followed by the fish and chips which were really quite good, wasn't a huge fan of the chips though.

For a restaurant that has only been open a week there are obviously going to be some teething problems and once they get the booking system sorted out it is certainly going to rate highly on my list of favourites, will have to remember to order a glass of Belle Epoque downstairs and hang onto it until the table is ready next time though.

Once again disappointed we called in for some oysters but out of season which we understood as milky oysters not brilliant. Decided to have a couple of entrees instead, soft shell crab awful, coated in thick crumbs instead of the usual delicate Tempura batter that does not take away from the flavour, also over cooked, salt and pepper squid although edible was not brilliant and we finished with grilled garlic prawns, these were quite nice with good flavours. Service was reasonable and the staff are friendly but value for money is just not there.

We ate here on Sunday night and were most impressed. The food is sensational and we will certainly return to try some of the other amazing sounding dishes.
We started off sharing 3 starters as was suggested by the waiter, these were the Tingling Prawns which certainly did set the tongue tingling, Tea Smoked Duck with pickled cabbage and chinese mustard, this dish was so moist and tender and the flavours were sensational, and the fried squid.

Our mains included Kung Pao Chicken with peppercorns chilli and cashews, this to me was the highlight of the meal and I would recommend it to anyone that likes a bit of spice, Pork and Cuttlefish which was in a rich soy sauce, and Wagyu with tofu and corriander, wasn't a Tofu fan until I tried this dish. Service was excellent and the waiters certainly know their food so we let them suggest a couple of the dishes the wagyu & tofu being one of them. My only negative would be that the lighting is a little dim for reading the menu but it certainly didn't detract from our whole experience.

We love it here, the food is fresh and the service can't be faulted. We were lucky enough to get in for dinner on a Thursday evening with only a few hours notice, usually the place is fully booked. We started with the special scallops which were fantastic and were accompanied by mushrooms, pancetta, risotto and a cauliflower puree an odd combination but it worked well. My husband had the steak which was melt in your mouth and I had the venison which was equally as good. We have been dining here for a while now and we were really pleased that the restaurant received its first chefs hat, hope number 2 is not far away it will be well deserved.

The food here is fantastic, we had the $150 Chefs Omikase and loved it. The service was impeccable and every course was explained in detail, presentation was amazing with the sashimi coming out in an ice globe. This is a place where you can lash out and enjoy a whole food journey or just relax over a couple of quality dishes and a nice bottle of sake or wine.

Ryan from Stoniers recommended that we try Megumi and I must say we love it and have been back several times. Sushi Boat is what it says, a wooden boat with a bit of garnish and some excellent sushi and we love the crispy terryaki chicken. Staff are friendly, decor is different but if you like Japanese give it a go.

This is about the fifth time that we have eaten here and the team never fail to impress as the food and service have always been exceptional. We had a lovely afternoon wandering through the vineyard and olive groves whilst looking at the sculptures, and finished the day with a wine tasting out by the Piazza. If you are visiting the Peninsula this is one place that you must visit, you won't be disappointed.
