Not child friendly! We went there to meet a friend who recommended the pub. Upon entry we were told that children (my 8 month old) were not allowed "by law' downstairs as there was a bar. Children were only allowed upstairs. So we decided to navigate up the windy stairwell a seat (which wasn’t a probably as there was only 1 other couple). We then went back downstairs to order our food and drinks.
When we arrived at the food counter we saw a young child (3-4 years old) sitting on the end of the bar eating hot chips. When we asked the lady serving how come that child can be downstairs we were told she was the owners child and she was waiting for someone (while eating chips?)
We also ordered the battered barramundi but received the grilled. We won't be going back there!

We ate there on the weekend as a Xmas celebration with friends. After mentioning this to the owner who greeted us as we walked in, he arrived at our table with a bon bon for each of the ladies. What a great touch. I can’t say enough about the service and having the owners touch base with you throughout the meal makes you feel like a valued customer.
I have eaten there before and again the meals were great. I can never tire of the cook your own style meal and the eye fillet is still one of the best steaks I have had in Sydney. We’ll be definitely going back there!

Don't go there! We went there for breakfast over the weekend. After waiting for 30 minutes for our breakfast, and seeing other people who had walked in after us receive the same meals we had, I went and asked where ours was. I was advised that it will be ready in two minutes. It arrived in two minutes with an addition to my order, a hair in my meal.
We left my partners meal on the table and asked for a refund (we only received a refund for only my meal). We were absolutely disgusted and will never ever go back there! I recommend you shout yourself to the Open Kitchen on Phillip St, you won't be disappointed.
